Hi I just posted this on discord as well. I am currently gathering more Abby maps, so far due to talking and death scenes it’s taken me 38 minutes for 24 eyes (the actual killing of him takes about 5-6 seconds). Comparitively I can do 1 uber per 55-1 min 10 per map. Uber is far harder to kill and more dangerous.
I propose a system that when you put in the 1 eye it gives you normal Abberoth but the system allows you to load up to 10 eyes with each eye adding 25% health and dmg to Abberoth. This allows a lot of time saving as well as extra challenges for people who are able to kill Abberoth easily but not yet able to fight Uber. A max of 250% HP and damage will still scale him no where near Uber. I don’t see any reason why people would be against speeding up the currently system as I see daily moans about the current one with some people hoarding all the eyes because they can’t bare it the way it is.
Static bosses is exactly what LE needs, to have these milestones of progress.
Right now the difference between Regular Aberroth and Uber Aberroth might be a little bit too big and we don’t have enough other static content between these two yet.
But having these at a static difficulty is really helpful to make them feel like real progression goals and communicate how strong or good your build is.
Once we would get anykind of different modifier or multipliers these type of bosses would no longer be static and defeats their whole purpose.
I don’t want to have this “Hey I just did Aberroth +2, next goal will be Aberroth +3”
The next person just says “I defeated Aberrtoh” but then you need to ask, which level you did it at?
Have this clear cut difficulties is really important and we need more other boss fights of that for the future.
If we buff a boss with 10 eyes, we lose 9 opportunities to loot from him.
So, each eye should also buff the drops, right?
In my opinion, if you want to make the run more challenging and are willing to spend 10 eyes on each run, the following should happen:
Abberoth is guaranteed to gain a buff based on your current corruption.
He summons one Harbinger every 20 seconds. These Harbingers don’t grant him invulnerability, but they also gain a buff based on your current corruption.
He gains invulnerability for 2 seconds, every 20% of his maximum health (this trigger occurs regardless of damage dealt and serves to prevent him from being one-shotted).
Each time he gains invulnerability, Abberoth is guaranteed to summon one Harbinger, adding one more each time he gains invulnerability.
The main point of this was not to make him harder it was to save time and avoid a horrible interaction which cannot be skipped.
Eye stacking would be optional. If you want to loot him for his junk loot every time then don’t put in 10 eyes. I am just not a fan of time wasting for time wastings sake. I have seen several recent suggestions on discord for cutting the chat scenes going right to the boss but they seem to be ignore along with chat scenes in upper maljeka with the snake lady and other places - once it’s been seen, allow a skip.
24 eyes in 38 mins when the fight takes me 6 seconds - thats basically 30 minutes of chat scenes and death scenes and loadins. That’s ridiculous.
Keep it static IDC but if they won’t allow mass conversion then give us a skip to the fight option for those of us who play the game 8+ hours a day and want to farm Uber for havocs because getting a full stack of rune22 prophecies takes over an hour of sitting in an out dated prophecy interface clicking ‘reroll’ even when you are using a rune tablet to make them appear more often.
@Heavy we 100% need more boss fights but how often do they add them? We have prison guy this league and he dies quicker than normal abberoth due to the way normal abberoths shield is buggy and weird. His fight is terrible for a lot of classes, especially melee.
Wouldn’t a much easier solution be to simply have some checkbox where we can skip the harbinger fight and most of the animation? It would be available after killing Abby the first time for the quest.
As for the death animation, just make the loot drop immediately while the animation is going on, so we can ignore it while looking at the loot.
A checkbox would be perfect or a space bar mash, anything lol - I was super happy with the heorot one mid campaign being changed this season I am unsure why they haven’t given options for all of them. Majasa’s chat scene drives me mad lol! I’ve run the full campaign 13 times at least this season based on my current character count so yeah gets a bit tedious!
So its over a minute of actual process and about 4-5 seconds, so rounded up to 6 even though it’s shorter. So if you do 30 minutes of fights or 30 processed and lets say its 1 minute flat even though it’s a bit more you get 3 minutes of fighting and 27 minutes of cut scenes/talking/loading. That is honestly a very unnessecary time sink.
