A New Chapter for Eleventh Hour Games

TBF, that’s how it works, so…

If you have 51% or more of the voting shares then you can force whatever you want & ultimately get pliant people in charge.

With the previous %.

What people are saying isnt a knee-jerking reaction. Majority of the hate for 10 cent comes from it being a Chinese company and peopme dont trust China.

Krafton has a track record of ruining games. They are also well know for implementing p2w and predatory microtransaction. 10 cent actually has a far better track record than krafton does.

Whos to say this time it will be different. Knowing the reputation and track record krafton has.

People are fully in the right to point these things out and be concerned. Huge chunk of the LE community has lost a good amount of trust in the future of this game with EHG selling to krafton.

Edit. Also 10 cent is a completely different company than krafton is. There history isnt the same.

Keep up the good work sir, using references like an essay, you have reached max forum level.

Sorry didnt even bother to read what you wrote, but just the fact you replied has made my day.

Thanks again

Crap like this is why I usually don’t engage in forum conversations.

Great expectations lead to great disappointments. Let’s not rush into things.

You do realize that’s not coming off as nonchalant or anything of the sort but rather being either a dick or having no mental capacity to understand the post made? Possibly both?

Yes, the post was nerding out and a bit out of the left field… but the information in it is actually right.

Would do you well to learn a little bit and try to understand it, the reason why you make those comments is after all a lack of knowledge, so go and fix that. Besides your behavioral shortcomings.

Hope this will mean more attention on fixing things that are still broken like the still dodgy boss hit boxes, mechanics, AoE telegraphing. S2 was great right up till the point of the still broken annoyances. Kind of disillusioned with all the current ARPG titles right now. Genre needs are real shake up IMHO.

The only reason I see something like this as plausible is that they were really drowning in debt and it was a “either we sell or shut down” situation, because it feels awful as a player to give a bit of money to support the company while it’s struggling, and then see them take the first big check that comes along, fully knowing Krafton’s history. I saw them as an alternative to PoE2, but now seeing how things are going, I think I’d rather spend my time on another game so I don’t end up with this one getting shut down too, thanks to good old “Krafton” and their track record.

Are you seriously comparing Tencent with Krafton? I see this theme reoccurring from copium members like you, and I can’t help myself from finally addressing this asinine non relevant comparison. What does Krafton buying EHG/LE have to do with Tencent? Do you not understand why people are upset? It’s not because a big corp bought them out. It’s the portfolio of the publisher that bought this game has a terrible track record. The games they’ve bought and published are not doing so well, so it’s normal players who have been backing this game since the start are upset. Comparing this to GGG+Tencent has to be the most braindead cope argument that makes absolutely no sense and doesn’t address the players criticisms. By the way, the founder (not owner anymore) isn’t going to give you a medal for defending them. You can drop your white knight armour down mate…

“Oh look, Tencent bought GGG and POE is fine, why are you guys complaining about Krafton?” type fucking dumb logic there.

Congrats to Judd and the team. I REALLY hope that all the theories continue to stay as theories only and you guys continue making bad ass shit. I have hope for the games future and hope it stays firmly in place and nothing changes creatively.

Much love and good luck in the future, looking forward to S3

If making sense of life rationally is “forum level”, I wish people spent more time on forums.

Maybe they compare it to general social media of the modern times? Hence short posts without any need for attention span?

Would explain why being one would be so averse to a proper argumentation line. Just need more capacity then they’re used to actually using. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m honestly surprised to my knowledge that EHG hasn’t reached out to Pocketpair Publishing given how fresh off the iron that particular publishing platform is, given Pocketpair’s Success with Palworld last year of January.

I’m also with those who speak of Kraftons track record when I say, joining Krafton is the biggest mistake you have ever made, & That’s not a warning, that’s a Spoiler.

I would have some optimism specifically for Last Epochs core gameplay & nothing more, given how fun it is, but I say this: You EHG, were better off remaining indie & NOT beholden to any publisher in any way, shape or form, flaws and all.
Because looking at how the rest of the gaming industry as a whole has been going lately, indies like Tyler with Schedule 1 and Sandfall entertainment, (headed by former ubisoft employees) with Clair obscure: expedition 33, & more, are picking up the pieces of where AAA used to be, before said AAA lost themselves to the inevitable evil of corporate hubris & ultimately just became FFF slop nobody asked for.

I am more than welcome to be wrong, but I & many other consumers/players have been proven right before since it has repeatedly happened with other companies & similar other situations…

~90% of what’s transpiring here in this thread is not concern. I never said, “don’t ask questions.” But that’s not what’s happening. People are acting like chicken little. If that’s your thing, by all means, go for it. I, for one, continue to recall EHGs track record over the last, oh, I don’t know, 8 YEARS since this entire project began and how well, open and transparent they’ve been. Even when the make mistakes. So I’m willing to spend some time waiting to see how it develops before throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Your mileage, of course, may vary.

The question is: while you spending time waiting will you be supporting the game?
Playing yes but actually paying the money?

Mind you I don’t come from place of bitterness, it’s a genuine question, as I feel at the crossroads now. While I put my money where my mouth is and will be supporting the Season 3 just for the simple reason of offline cosmetics. But after Season 3…

Right, but can you see how EHG’s record matters little here? I have no doubt in EHG’s capabilities. But when you sell the IP to a publisher, it no longer matter what’s the developer’s track record, but rather the publisher’s track record. What people are doing is looking at the track record of Krafton, and how they have treated the IP’s they bought and/or published, notice a pattern and show concern on the future of LE. I think it’s perfectly valid to have such concerns.

I mean, let’s grab what you stated and apply this logic elsewhere. Blizzard had an outstanding reputation and great track record before the merger with Activision. Did Blizzard’s immaculate track record matter after the merger?

I’m sure there are more examples of this, like Bungie comes to mind. I’d have to think more to name others. But it’s just to prove the point that EHG’s track record has no bearing to what happens when they sell their IP to a publisher.

I was already dissatisfied with Season 2 but this kills the game entirely for me. I will never play this game again.

As a Software Engineer I constantly see how big teams move at a snails pace. As you add more people to a team, the communication and overhead grows exponentially.

This is the crux of the issue, Caius.

EHG’s track record means jack shit now. EHG has 0% control over anything that happens from this point forward. Krafton owns EHG, Krafton has ultimate authority over EHG. If Krafton wants stash tabs and character slots to be microtransactions? They’re going to be microtransactions. If Krafton wants to lock future masteries (or even current masteries) behind a paywall? It’s going to be locked behind a paywall,

EHG’s promises and roadmap and vision for Last Epoch was null and void the moment they were acquired by Krafton
