A New Chapter for Eleventh Hour Games

I’m done with ehg. I won’t give another dollar to the game

Nothing more need be said. The community is right. I can’t believe I had as much faith in this game/company as I had. I get needing to cash out but man, you could have literally thrown a dart at the board and picked a better company. To say you went out and initiated conversations with KRAFTON is horrifically naive. I get it though, you want your fat pay day but you threw the good will your company was generating under a bus. These are the actions of someone who wants to retire early in their life and I get it. I’d be hard pressed to pass on such a large buyout as you all got too. But don’t sit here and shovel the non-sense you are saying it’ll make the game better. You said it yourself, they have full control. This game is doomed eventually. Not this season but it is inevitable. You’ll notice it though right away on the playerbase you all get at the release of next season. it’ll be noticeably worse than it was for season 2. Damn, man. I had such high hopes for you all.

I don’t see MG handled with the access restrictions being entirely nonsensical, double-dipping for CoF and the gold limit literally ruining a large portion of the top-end trading entirely which makes it non-functional for anyone with items in that area.

I also don’t see the Lagon difficulty spike being properly handled, or the negative difficulty spike of moving into normal monoliths after the current end of campaign… or the second difficulty spike when traversing from normal monoliths over to empowered. All of those are supposed to be relatively smooth progressions.

I also don’t see - yet - a sustained release schedule being upheld, that is in the making at least, so promising. But I also don’t see the core demands for a released game being met… which is a finished campaign, which is a solid end-game and accordingly at least mediocre balance being achieved (rather then this nonsense we currently have ongoing).

So if it simply goes on ‘as is’ it’s already doomed to fail, which I stated since pre-release even and it only went downhill as we can see.

Then don’t make a damn live-service game. You know, the genre with the most failures in total percentile of all gaming genres with only very very few success stories.

Also don’t invest into upscaling the company when you’ve not ensured guaranteed funding.
Also don’t be surprised when people leave after finding out your desperate move to not get bancrupt causes a boatload of quality issues. Act on them and not think you’re now ‘the big league’ suddenly and it’ll stay that way.

It was mismanagement, it is mismanagement and it’ll likely stay mismanagement. That’s something I’ve accepted… which doesn’t mean I won’t point it out, quite the contrary… it’s necessary to showcase issues to make proper decisions.

Ah yes, the common ‘we’ usage. Go ahead, nobody is stopping you, but don’t expect others to hold hands as you do it, you’re all grown up and can step back by yourself all fine, ‘we’ trust in you!

This is definitely not “very exciting news” this is a death sentence. Hopefully I am wrong and hopefully all of you over at EHG are treated well, I for one was praying to see Krafton dissolved after their last MAJOR blunder a mere 3 weeks ago. Definitely was not hoping they would go on to aqcuire more studios in the middle of a $500mil lawsuit that they are absolutely on the wrong end of. Their legalese contradicts itself in under 1 paragraph it’s sad to see.
Krafton: Ok release by 2025 and you will be rewarded.
Game company: Slates release for 2025
Krafton: Wait no, delay it until 2026 its not ready, also its supposed to be ready for 2024, and since it wasn’t ready a year ago, you’re fired.

I didn’t know that the “Eleventh Hour Games” was an hour on a doomsday clock. Now i guess the only thing we can do is wait till midnight, and the project is already on 11 after these news.

I hope you didn’t sell the entire company, but only shares. So that the game, this treasure, remains in your hands, no matter what happens.

RIP. Unreal that this purchase went forward AFTER the news of what was happening with the Subnautica 2 team.

Congrats to Judd and the top brass that are going to take big paychecks before having their game murdered before their eyes, though.

Wishing you guys the best. But I am not sure if this is the best partner to pair up with. But oh well, who am I to judge.

100% of EHG sold for 96 mil. USD (plus up to 60 mil. USD earn-out til 2033) - That’s what the press release of KRAFTON says.

You are so cooked there tons people boycotting Krafton completely. It like you did no research at all. welcome little no new sales when then story come out to mainstream of players. in yr they fire you all this game will be dead. some biggest content creators been doing huge stories them how bad are that so bad for you as company.

It’s a fairly simple concept for me. This is either a death sentence, or quite literally nothing will change. It’s a matter of time. You as a player could decide to leave Last Epoch behind and move onto your next favorite game, or, give it a chance, see how EHG deals with it and review it from there.

Yeah I’d lie and shill like that too for $96million.

Oh, no worries about me, my current process is changing over to true offline only and staying there for the moment. No MTX payments as Krafton for sure has not earned any money from me, much like Ubisoft, EA or Blizzard haven’t earned me to give them a single cent.

I’ve always had PoE 1 as my main ARPG, which isn’t changing as I know what to expect there commonly outside of some… major mishaps which take ~2 years to fix commonly. But at least they’re even consistent with their large mistakes on how they handle em… which isn’t good either, but at least it gets fixed gradually and visibly.

Last Epoch was my secondary game, imagined if EHG gets their shit together properly then I would move over for it becoming the main game, but seemingly that won’t happen. If it stays the same this option is after all still open… but I damn well won’t do it before it’s not clear what is becoming of LE for obvious reasons.

Guess my backup game will be something else… Minecraft maybe, they’re consistent at least!

“KRAFTON acquired 100 percent of Eleventh Hour Games’ shares. The acquisition amount includes an initial consideration of USD 96 million.”

I won’t play again. Corporations only care about a Return of Investment. You’ll get no more of my time or money.

I’m saddened by this.

I really hope this was in your contract, and that you had a good lawyer go over your contract to make sure there aren’t any loopholes that Krafton can–and probably will–take advantage of. While I absolutely understand and agree with your decision to go with a partner for the financial stability of the company, none of us are privy to the details of your deal. From the outside looking in, we can’t help but worry for the future of a game we love given Krafton’s track record.

Remember, if you never update the game you can continue to play what it was pre krafton with offline.

((Or just make a copy of the files))

Absolutely awful news. Never played a game that’s been acquired by another after that actually improved. This is such a fast fall off. I’m not gonna sit here and say I wouldn’t take the money and go, I understand, but man does it suck for the rest of us.

Look, first off thank you for coming here and taking the heat to pass on the message to us. That take serious courage. You are doing your best to communicate the vision with us, which is also greatly appreciated. I love the direction and game so far and look forward to seeing so much more. The publisher has had a lot of bad history, but maybe they are doing their best to be more hands off here for that reason too. This is your child, and we know you love it and won’t let it go that route.

I look forward to the Necro and Lich reworks too. Keep up the boldness and great work. Pass on my humble thanks as a player to the team.

With your shield or on it.
