First of all, congratulations on a very good game. After buying and playing this I didn’t feel the need to launch another not to be named ARPG…
It’s amazing how many great features and gameplay it comes with for half the price of a horse!!
Now that that’s out of the way, this is just a list of things that I’ve noticed/remarked after 230 hours and wanted to share.
Not sure what rights the EHG staff have on editing posts but if they have the option I’m happy to allow edits on the list itself with answers/explanations. If they have the time to read and respond to these ramblings
Eg;
- Can we do Foo-Bar?
Because Foo and Bar are pretty awesome.
Yes, you are correct!
No, because Foo and Bar are not Baz and Bat.
Guide
-
Can we please expand the guide with the different sounds the game has on certain (character) events?
For instance, the “ding” is suppose to mean that you are stunned? I had to look it up but came up with 3 possibilities. It’s stunned, glancing blow or a critical strike. Nobody seems to be sure? -
Can all the skills be added in here too?
First one that comes to mind is “Tundra nova” from Frozen Ire. The only source of information is outside of the game (and this may very well be outdated). -
Maybe even open-source (git?!) this part so the community can write guides and those can be put up for review in a merge request?
Just a thought.
Towns and teleports
-
In the vendor window, can we keep the shatter shards to the right side please?
Rather annoying to be hunting shards between all the other stuff in there. -
Add a healer person in the towns and “Echo of a world” please?
When you swap gear out (coming from Exsanguinous and going to Titan Heart for instance) and take of your belt you are stuck with little to no health which in turn leads to an almost guaranteed death after entering a level. -
After completing an empowered monolith you are returned to the “End of the world” instead of “Echo of a world”.
Now this creates somewhat of a luxury issue when you just completed a bunch of prophecies. You either have to return to town or select a new echo to complete.
- Going to town adds (long!) loading and creates stress on a system that doesn’t seem to need any more (assumption!).
- Completing another echo (c|w)ould fill your poor bags even further.
In the non-empowered monoliths this makes sense since you are (or should be?) aiming to progress to the next and on.
- In the “Temporal Sanctum”, when progressing to the next level you keep getting the (rather annoying) popup about new tiers.
It’s not new if you unlocked it earlier.
Oh and can the animated door just be open already?
Gameplay
-
When you teleport on a shrine it doesn’t show what the buff is.
Can we have it appear on the screen like the “Weaver upgraded” message but maybe in a different color? -
Can we please remove the “cast delay” and the “stop moving on cast”?
Apparently when you run auto-cast from numpad this isn’t done either. And given how important it is to stay on the move in this game it feels/seems somewhat logical? -
Please let us pick up loot when the label is clickable from where the label is instead of moving to the items location on the ground.
I assume most of us have this particular issue because the label could appear somewhere totally different as to where the item is on the ground and our character is moving to a location we wouldn’t expect at first.
And most of us (I assume) try to correct that and then most of the miss-clicks happen. -
Can we aggregate dropped gold in a certain range (4|6|8m)?
Prevents more gold clutter on the screen and streamlines the gameplay somewhat.
UI and options
-
Please, pretty please, let us change the color and size of the cursor!
Just… Please? -
Please have somebody have a real close look at where your mouse actually is and where the game it thinks it is.
There are so many times where you hover over nothing and seemingly random a popup (out of screen too!) of an item or shard appears. This also applies moving your mouse to the chat window and it opening. Very frustrating… -
Can we have the option to have different settings for mouse over items to change the behavior when in town/in combat?
Right now there is only 1 option to influence how to influence the “Auto-compare items” in the settings menu. This can lead to death in combat because you hovered over an item and missed one of the many explosions and/or enemies. And this, when in town, is something one might want as an option to quickly sort through the items. -
Can we have a default chat channel selection in the options?
Personally getting tired of having to disable the public chat part because of all the gold sellers in there… Now that’s a whole other problem that isn’t easy to fix… -
Can we have the option to move the health, mana and skill-bar to the left or right too?
Just because it really get’s in the way trying to teleport to somewhere on the bottom of your screen. -
Can you please change the frequency of the voice lines of characters and bosses?
These occur just waaaaay too often… Disabled “Voice volume” under sound just to not be annoyed by it. -
Can we please show which items dropped with which team mates?
It’s just impossible to drop friends some loot that you farmed with them…
Character information
-
Would it be possible to list all changes done to ailments (poison to bleed, cold to fire, etc.) in the character info screen?
Just a way that we can make sure that we our doing what we think we are doing. -
Could we add things like “X penetration with X” with the calculated values in there too?
We simply don’t have this summed up. -
Can we add the source of values in the info screen?
This could be done by pressing Ctrl + Alt (or something else) when hovering over the label/value.
For instance, you need to be very aware where your resistances (just to name one) come from.
Prophecies
-
Can we please have an option to aggregate/group/filter on prophecies?
Just to know what would be beneficial to farm next. -
Can the “Visit observatory” button just take us there?
Why the added step in showing the map and having to click the location? Just feels like needless extra clicks.
Stash
-
Can we have more search options in the stash?
I’d like to be able to find, for instance, an item with T7 AND T6 affix for a 2LP slam.
Filtering down item bases would also be highly preferable (other than typing the base name). -
Can the “not usable” item in the stash (and character) be improved?
Make a stash tab full of 1x1’s and try to find an item that you are able to wear :')
Loot filter
-
Can we extend/expand the loot filter to be able to search for certain affixes AND the bases we want to look for?
Right now this is simply not possible in 1 rule. You need to create several rules with the different bases that you want to look for and then add, in every rule, the same affixes (and possibly other rules too).
This might also be fixable by allowing us to actually select bases and their subtypes in the same list. Currently it doesn’t allow/show this. -
Would it be possible to make “layered” filters?
For instance, a generic filter that would hide all normal, magic and rare items. This rule would apply to all my characters (maybe not over hardcore/cycle, etc.).
I would then create a filter as normal for my specifics that I’m (not) looking for on that particular character.
Right now it’s somewhat of a hassle to maintaining the filters when you want to add/change/delete criteria. Especially when you farm with all the needs of your alts (and friends!) in there too.
Also rather curious why the filters are limited to 75, if anybody has an answer on that I’d be happy to hear it. -
Can we please have more colors? And also italic and strikethrough would be a really nice option to have next to emphasize.
-
Can we please copy/move rules from 1 set to another?
Just to make our lives that tiny bit easier? -
As a side question, is there an API somewhere where we can get the ID’s and the names of items, affixes, etc.?
That way we might be able to compile our own filters through tools we have at our disposal. But I’d rather have the suggestions to the loot filter implemented in the game as opposed to writing my own tool(s).
