A list of areas where I feel the game currently falls short

I’m not sure any of these will be addressed, because quite honestly this is all quite basic stuff that should have already been addressed, OR they’re core issues with the game design. However, this is a fun game, with a lot of potential. I like it, and I wish it well. I want to provide my honest and frank feedback in the hopes that this will lead to a better game.

These are my complaints/queries after 50 hours:

  1. where are the buff icons for most buffs? (e.g. i’m supposed to have concentration and lose it when hit, there’s NO indication i currently have concentration)
  2. where are the icons for minion buffs?
  3. where are all the debuff icons?
  4. why do enemy health bars stick to the top of my screen after they’re dead?
  5. why can i only show health over my character and not mana?
  6. why do my attacks just whiff and not hit sometimes (not a dodge)?
  7. what’s with the input lag for abilities?
  8. why does town portal take you to a random location in town?
  9. why do enemies respawn in the same session (i.e. you town portal, you come back and enemies have respawned and fog of war is back)?
  10. why have an in-game wiki when it tells you shockingly little? (i.e. what scales given DoTs and the interactions they have with other things. Also IIRC there’s NOWHERE in the game that explains that generic buffs to a skill in the skill tree (i.e. more damage) will also impact the DoTs applied by that skill)
  11. crafting is “easier” than PoE but actually feels worse - forging potential is limited and completely RNG - in PoE if you mess up a craft, you can just strip it back to the base item and try again. This isn’t the case in LE.
  12. base items are basically worthless vs finding a perfect rare item with high forging potential - this is even more RNG than PoE
  13. minions are slow and clunky
  14. levelling skills to customise is way worse than levelling gems in PoE because with gems you just get more damage when levelling, the customisation is from links and support gems
  15. yet ANOTHER overly long campaign that everyone will hate after a few characters, with no shortcut to the end for new characters after having completed it once
  16. skills are inherently limited by what the developers have decided they should be used for - this is very frustrating if, for example, 1 skill is perfect for one thing in your mind, but you find that NONE of the customisation nodes offer you an avenue to achieve this

They have buff icons for most buffs to aid in decision making. Concentration doesn’t have any decision making involved with it so you get a debuff when its “on cooldown” (due to being hit).

Right hand side of the skill bar.

No idea, probably a bug, but low priority.

Lag. It’s a thing in online games.

It doesn’t, it takes you to the same place in each act/town.

Technical issue with how level data is stored. The devs said it would be changed when they implemented mp. shrugs

Its different, certainly. I’m not overly fond of needing to know all the mechanics involved with PoE’s crafting and many like the lack of RNG in what affixes you get on an item when crafting. Unlike in PoE you’re not supposed to take a white item up to an end-game viable item, the higher quality items are suppised to be more useful for crafting.

It’s different, you need to change your mindset. It’s not objectively worse, just different.

Just like PoE’s then. The only game that doesn’t do that is D3 & to a lesser extent GD.

Yes, this is what happens with skill trees. Uniques can change things.

Actually in most cases it does take you to a random location in town. I know that this has been reported though and is likely low priority.

This is definitely a bug and has been reported, though is likely a low priority.

And, not “everyone” will hate it. Just because you doesn’t mean everyone will. Input is good to know what your preference is but generalizations don’t help.

Just in case you didn’t know/realise, you can get all of your idol slot and passive point quest rewards by the beginning of the Lagon chapter and go straight to monoliths. Saves quite a bit of time over doing the whole campaign. Unlocking empowered monoliths is still a major pain though.

PoE and LE have a very different approach to crafting. In PoE the limiting factor in crafting is currency. In LE it’s the need to find a good base to craft on. (With a good amount of RNG sprinkled on top for both games.)
I guess it’s only natural that different people will have different preferences. One area where the LE system definitelly shines is low-budget crafting since even if you don’t get all your affixes to lvl 5 you’re still likely to end up with a usable item.

I miss healing ticks (in green color). I have no idea how how much im getting healed for (or if they are working) with various healing skills, passives, totems, minions etc. Also no idea about the radius of those effects since there are no graphics for them.
