Just hit max level after about 81 hours. pushed to 400 corruption here are my suggestions for improvements, just my opinions. Some of my notes I get it… are the way im choosing to play the game, but for most of those cases… Im choosing that way because its the most efficient way to do it or by the design, not because its fun. That said this will seem like a negative post… I love the game. This lists the stuff I think needs improvement only.
Mono Target Farming: Target farming is great!. 1 Timeline dropping my entire build… efficient… but boring… I’ve cleared 45 timelines. 37 of those were the same one because almost my entire build drops from the same boss…Only other clears were a single clear to get a blessing. Maybe vary the loot table, or adjust it differently. I get it… The Ice Lich dropping Ice items makes sense… but find a way to change it up so I have a reason to visit other areas.
COF: Amazing!! Stacking Proph for loot explosions is great!!. Rank 9 reward SUPER trash (only because set items are bad) Weapon telescope needs to be adjusted… I’ve rolled 20+ times to get a single 1h wand proph… shouldnt be that way. Maybe add more nodes, or set a rule that on a single role nodes MUST be different class of weapon. Would be nice if in 1 - 2 roles you get what you want (like the other scopes). Max Rank takes to long IMO. Im 80 hours in and rank 8 1/2 right now… Just my opinion I dont think the average game will play more than 50 hours per cycle.
Merchant Guild: (notes from a friend I went COF) Trainwreck… Level 3 you Instantly with Zero effort get to buy your entire build… then for 60 hours of game-play you get nothing (upgrades) The lack of the huge loot explosions that COF get make actually playing the game feel super un rewarding… You sorta lock Better upgrades behind playing the game… but then make playing the game less fun… and the grind to higher faction ranks so steep, that it feels bad… its not omg RNG blessed me I got this sick drop!! its… well 50 hours of grinding unrewarding gameplay so I can right click to win the gear upgrade from a shop
Class Balance: Feels bad. Warlock/Falcon almost any build is 10x better than 95% of other class builds. Can be trash gear and clear 400+, other classes need BIS gear and a build guide and at best clear 1/2 as fast or not at all. Please make Other classes Better!! dont just nerf the strong ones… the power fantasy is what we want… make other classes better with buffs… not nerf the strong ones!!!
Arena: Just my preference… insanely boring, unrewarding. Maybe implement random encounters (bosses) changing modifiers mid waves, faster spawning (like overwhelm me with enemies), Events/Traps like meteor showers, plagued ground. anything really feels very bland currently. Leaderboards are pointless when expoits are in the game… Every person clearing 2k+ are using the ward exploits. Even if they weren’t… Were are the rewards?? Arena is by far the most boring content… what Do i get for investing my time? my name a spreadsheet?? should reward items/cosmetics… but also needs to be tiered… Average players regardless of skill will never be top of leaderboards, fact is people play games as full time jobs… Even if you fix the exploits I think the current leaderboards will cater to the 1% full time gamers while the 99% community wont enjoy it. I know item (gear score) isnt in the game… but if their was segmented leaderboards by something like gear score or something similar… then average gamers could compete within their bracket rather then against 10 hour a day full time gamers.
Monos: Pretty fun, Feels good to choose reward paths. I think Rewarding Higher Corruption for distance from the center is bad… Reward higher corruption for higher sustainability or for full map completion instead. Further out maps should be harder (level of monsters and mods) but reward more items/sustain etc… Like a ring system with 3 - 5 layers, the outside layers being harder but more rewarding, rather than entire map as a single difficult that only gets 1 - 5 % harder with each reset.
Bosses: Too Easy, Each boss only has about 3 - 4 attacks, all very slow, telegraphs are tool long. Please use Julra as a standard for boss fights, She has overlapping mechanics that make her more challenging, dodging lasers, while watching for breaths, while looking out for totems, also while using a dungeon mechanic… perfect… Everything else in the game, just stare at boss. move to left… rinse repeat. Orobyss is sometimes fine he gets a nice mix of this, other times hes a pushover. All Mono bosses are super boring fights.
Temporal Sanctum: The instant time swap, no load screens, nice palace to decrepid void infested stuff. Amazing… do this concept/style 10x everywhere else… Its cool, its fast, it doesnt slow down gameplay, its makes it more engaging, please continue with concepts like this.
Enemy Balance: Pretty bad. Tundra Stalkers and other random generic enemies are Insanely overtuned and 1 shot you. Then Giant Crabs/Mammoths/Giants tickle you. Ice golems charge up a slam for like 5 seconds and turns into a high five… But they drop the blizzard and u take maybe 3 hits in about 1 second and your insta dead… Some attacks are just super overtuned some are way under.
Passives/Skills Not functioning: Not much to say here, theirs quite a few nodes/passives that legit just dont work. you wouldnt know unless u sat at a training dummy with an excel sheet… but its true. Warlock has at least 5 as of this writting that legit do not function.
Multiplayer: Not sure the fix here… But joining a “in progress” mono group. Its just straight up broken, cant see party, cant see enemies, cant see abilities, lag is out of control… Joining a party sitting in the end of time mono hub. then loading into a level, works perfect… not sure the fix their but… its annoying lol
QOL Asks:
Keyring that Autovacuums keys into seperate loot area, Dungeon auto uses key rather then moving it over to the window
Shardbag exists… but add autovacuum without the need to click, and auto place in bag
Volumetric Lighting - da hell is going on here?? set at Lowest game looks amazing… any other setting it just ups the contrast to a insane amount
Ward Display - Needs to be bigger?? or different?? hard to see currently when focusing on gameplay
In game item Compendium: Frustrating to have to open a browser to find where items drop, add each item to the in game, game guide for easy searching?
Map Pathing: Most maps are fine… But some of them visually look like a flat path or area to move on, but the minimap clearly shows you cant. I’ve died a few times getting stuck on flat ground to realize its just not a moveable area… but looks identical to the ground that you can walk on
Cosmetics: Alot of them look super bad for the price tag (I get some were probably made a few years ago before the graphical updates) Also should be able to buy a full set a discounted price. Example Soul Eater is 350 points for the full set (cant buy as a bundle) but then the 2 other bundle armors are only 250 and 200… Again same note as above some sets are just super low resolution… if im paying real money for a cosmetic it needs to look as good (but often better) then the in game free items.
