Tribalism is just weird. Competition is good for both games.

i like both games but people were sayin how PoE 2 is bad and LE was more popular and is much better game when PoE 2 in their bad league had 250k peak players and in LE good league only 75k? last cycle it was 150k so what even happened?

It’s a thursday and most schools have started back in the states. Also, it’s not even 5pm on the east coast, so people are still at work.

Did you just actually look for a fight with this post? Just weird how you are angry at the get-go while arguing with no one.

You’re insufferable

im not angry at all tho? just weird how you assume people are angry based off what they typed

harsh facts hurt i know you were one of those people who were glazing all over LE and sayin how its so much better than PoE 2 :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy:

:clown_face::clown_face::clown_face::clown_face::clown_face:

still 75k peak only they have 50% of decline in players from previous cycle or you still sticking with that “people at work still”

TBF, the 150k was the peak for the entire period which is likely the weekend. Unless that 150k was for the Thursday evening?

It was for Thursday. The weekend only kinda matched the numbers, but not quite. Much like I don’t believe the weekend will change this peak.
Unless people were more hyped for 1.2 and couldn’t wait for the weekend, so they all joined as soon as possible and now they’re not as hyped so they’re waiting for the weekend. But I doubt it.

Although the current numbers don’t change the statements Deviant is apparently so upset about. LE’s 1.2 was very successful, considering the state of the game and PoE2’s 0.2 was a disaster, considering the state of the game.
LE’s rating went up a lot, PoE2’s rating went down a lot.

The relative success between these games with 1.3 and 0.3 doesn’t change what happened with 0.2 and 1.2. It just means each game capitalized on that differently.

EDIT: Part of the weaker numbers can probably be attributed to the launch date, being close to both Gamescon and PoE2, so likely some people don’t want to bother playing just for a few days only to switch soon.
But mostly I think it’s simply because the overall additions aren’s as exciting, consisting mostly of new gear and a campaign chapter (which people always want to skip anyway).
Rift beast is kinda like a variant of Nemesis, not as exciting to interact with for most people.

Last season started right before Easter so there was longer weekend in many countries due to public holidays …

LE Is a much better game. Better and more popular are not synonymous. PoE 2 is an ok-ish game, and it does some things really well. Incorporating skill expression in the actual skill usage via things like Snipe’s ‘mario golf’ style perfect hit mechanic is a fine example. Other things it’s awful at. We’ll see how PoE 2 does this season, probably tremendously well. What even happened is EHG announced being bought out by Krafton and that pissed people off, and LE, for various reasons, fails to draw the attention or retention that PoE and other games do. I assume the difficulty curve has a lot to do with it.

But that doesn’t change the fact that LE is a better game. None of that does. It just means it’s not a very popular game, and frankly that has no real sign of changing in the near future.

LE is my favorite game in the genre, barring the nostalgia trips playing D2 LoD/PD2 (which happen often enough).
But to be fair, I don’t think you can say that LE is a better game than PoE2. Or PoE1. Or D4. Nor can you say the reverse. PoE2 isn’t better than LE/PoE1/D4, etc.

Some games just appeal to different players. For some LE is their favorite and the one they enjoy the most, for others it’s PoE1 or 2, or D4, or GD, or TLI. And all these games target different enough player types to justify not doing direct comparisons.
Neither is right or wrong, better or worse. They just have different people preferring one over the other.

Respectfully gotta disagree there. You can of course say it’s a better game. Just like I would easily say Skyrim is a better game than Avowed or that Takedown 2 is a better game than Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. Now, that is a subjective statement. It’s not objectively and universally true, some folks will prefer the feature set of the other in all of those cases, and will have a different conclusion as to which is a better game. But you can absolutely make that assessment, and one way that’s fair to make it less subjective is to take the aggregate opinion, as in the percentage of positive reviews. In that metric, it’s not just subjectively true but objectively true that a higher percentage of the people who care enough to leave a review found LE to be a good game, or in other words, they on average liked it better.

still the same peak on weekend so they really got 50% less player decline from previous cycle wich make sense this cycle doesnt anything really besides unique items and the rift beasts is just another champion monster i remember some guy was glazing and saying how LE doubled their playerbase and how PoE 2 lost its most playerbase cant wait to see next PoE 2 league having like 5 times more concurent players than LE this cycle

Just looked it is 80.2k. Which is higher than the 1.0 & 1.1 release and lower than 1.2. Seems like reasonable retention.
