Yeah, kinda wild to be honest. And this graph makes sense on the server issues. I bet they didn’t plan for this many people to log in.
We’re comparing the end of Early Access with the beginning of the release of the game. Who was expecting more than a handful of people still playing after 5 years of waiting for launch?
It’s a very misleading comparsion. Look at the Jan 23 bump in the chart. It’s not a 3100% increase of expected players … just from the lowest to highest values. They sold a million copies of the game … and they couldn’t handle 20% of them showing up to play the game on launch. What kind of an expecation is that?
I was just saying I’m surprised that many people showed up. I was honestly expecting less than what they have now to show up for launch. I was assuming around 50k players or so since the multi-player launch in beta was around 30k players. But yeah, with 1 million copies sold it is still a lot less than the total amount of sales.
