Yeah your right implementation of a cosmetic shop is the same as handling a shit ton of people logging in at once. Blizzard was shit at it for the first 3/4 expacs
It took less than 6 hours to fix this issue. Iām impressed at how well devs handled it (no sarcasm, Iām being honest).

I have seen game launches that have gone perfectly, Elden ring springs to mind where you have an online service that worked seamlessly from day one. I work in IT, I have worked on servers for 10k+ users where it has to go right at launch. The way you do it is by preparing a system that can support significantly more users than you are expecting. You never want to be even close to your capacity if you are expecting lots of users to be jumping on at the same time.

If only this game had an offline mode that you could play while waiting for servers to be stable oh well maybe next game?
Iām generally in agreement with your overall tone here, Iām mad about this launch too, but this is just untrue.
Elden Ring had massive issues with broken anti cheat that was kicking people off or preventing them from booting at all, and it pushed out a set of revisions to like 2/3 of the player base but that last 1/3 couldnāt connect to the server at all for like a day.

Yes, preperation is everything, but youāre talking about a few factors smaller launch for elden ring there mateā¦ weāre talking 150k+ users for this launch. The traffic of all these players trying to connect at once is, what I imagine anyway, comparable to a DDOS attack happeningā¦
saying refund is silly, just play offline till its fixed. and dont say "well ill have to remakeā¦part of the game.
