1.0 Server Status Thread

They had issues on launch and still have issues to this day. Wait until season 4 launch and they will have plenty of issues or they will promise you things going into the game and not put them in.

People really underestimate the size of the dev team compared to the amount of people trying to play.
It’s a new company, with indie game funding trying to manage a AAA size player base.

Grow up

Odd that people are raging about this given it’s a small indie company and multi-billion dollar companies making AAA titles have the same kinds of issues on launch.

I’ve never been able to play a Blizzard game at their announced launch time, at least not very well.

after all this preparation and all these years waiting for the 1.0 to launch this is definitely not good and honestly it doesnt make sense for something like this to happen in 2024…

You cant do everything perfect lol. Especially with server stuff and a lot of players… its not as easy as more players → bigger server and everything just works

Blizzard has the money. If these guys invested that much in the servers the game would be bankrupt within months if not sooner.

Ah yes, spoken like a person that has no clue how server infrastructure works

Gotta love gaming in 2024, you pay for a product only for it to not work as intended :yum:

also nice new bugs that were never in the game before such as monsters t-posing and appearing under the floor of the map LOL absolute shambles. Are you sure its 1.0 and you didn’t accidently rollback the version?

Idk if I’m more mad about the transparency then if they just ignored us lol. Admitting your launch is dog shit every hour seems like it would be a self inflicted blow for them lol.

No, haven’t heard anything regarding that issue.
I’d dig into Steam & Windows troubleshooting…
Also double check your Drivers ( especially video )
Make sure all drives have more than 10% free space.
Checking File integrity for the games install could also help.
I wish i had more to suggest, that’s all i have atm.

Queued logins like a ton of other online games have been using for a decade plus

what they delivered until now is already worth the money… And from now it will just get better

Exactly, offline mode works too!

I am playing games for the past 33 years so i get that online games don’t work at all for the first couple of days.
What i can’t understand is how can any dev release a game with “full offline mode” that doesn’t work AT ALL, here is what i experienced in this “full offline mode” so far…
Game was verified and reinstalled, still the same sh*t.

no they’d rather cry that they can’t get a refund or flame post the forums like they’d be doing in chat anyway if the game were up for online play.

These are the same people who whined about every other online only game not working right at release, saying they should make a offline mode, and now that there is one, they’re still complaining. lol

HR department of the gaming industry?

This is predictable and plannable, period.
The first thing you need to do for mass rollout is identify each resource/component/server and perform load testing on that component to determine the max load/connection/users/etc… prior to it performing “poorly”.

Once you have noted this for each link in your chain, you determine based on per-user how many connections/load one user generates against those resources.

You tally up how many licenses sold and project to support something like 85% concurrency on release time, noting how each resource needs to scale out(or up) to support that load.

Multiple stress tests at a semi-high count will validate the algorithm of user count to resource allocations.

EDIT:
Critically important for the arch/eng to take all hops into account, from the beginning DNS geo answer load, ingress load balancers in “DMZ” (depending on what kinda architecture they are using for this app), firewall devices, excessive logging, internal load balancers, load balancing algorithms used, etc… on and on. Requires thorough understand that is not a developer skillset.

Have you tried verifying game files? Seen some streamers who play offline just fine
