I mean, I wouldn’t dump on someone who finds themself in that situation. We all have certain phases we go through in life at times, and if you’re young, don’t have a family/home/career yet, perhaps working a job or in school is the best you get. So I won’t judge if they did indeed plan on a playcation for this release.
My issue is, when have you EVER seen a highly anticipated game, or especially an ARPG release flawlessy where you were able to binge play like that in the first several days as if you were back in high school and had no cares in the world? I haven’t seen flawless releases like that since the golden age of consoles like the NES and Sega Genesis. Now a days, everything is a calculation on when to release and we’ll patch up the remaining bugs by network patches down the road. It is how modern game development is. Not just games, anything computer or networkable is the same way, your OS on your computer, laptop, or phone, your fridge if it’s networkable, your vehicle certainly…
At some point expectations need to meet reality and it has long since been a joke for me to think that I should take a few days off from work for the release of this game simply because I like it so much .
I don’t understand what’s wrong with having expectations for something you pay for and make plans around, doesn’t matter if it’s a vacation, new game or whatever.
I mean yeah i agree, i never intended to make fun of him having no money, i worded that badly. But i maintain that he is dumb af if he thought he could play a game day 1 and took some days off for it too. That’s really poor decision making.
Well you can have expectations, we all have them to some respect. But taking the day(s) off from work for a planned game release? That’s totally unwise IMHO, simply due to looking at historical precedence on how online game releases pan out.
I don’t mind playing in offline mode while they fix the issues. The sad thing is that my friends can log in online and I’m left with the infinite loading screen.
i think its funny people are crying saying they cant play the game and cry, theres an option to play offline while they fix online. SO yes snowflakes and sensative crybabies
I mean I do get it, many of us seem to be solo players, but this is very bad for those that wanted to team up with friends. That’s completely shot out of the water I will admit, and it’s not looking too good for the weekend if that’s what the plan was.
Could be worse, it coulda been Helldivers 2 you were planning on teaming up for.
