keep in mind that the quantity of items in general is supposedly to be nerfed by a good bit and then all of these buffs being added onto the new values … so it might not be that much different from right now
I do expect it to be a buff but not a huge one like people think it will be
It would be great to somehow target farm specific affixes for exalted items, of course using the CoF. Especially, if this could be combined with also targeting a specific base type (or item type).
I am not asking for a deterministic method, but an increased drop chance. It could work as a new system inside CoF, where you could modify the probabilities of certain affixes by paying with favours. Maybe the same system for bases ?
Any chance of bringing this feature for the regular loot filters? Please
i could be imagining things but isnt that already like part of the prophesy system? … like being able to target sets of affixes to have higher weights
The Bazaar search functions are intentionally more powerful than the loot filter.
I like the sound of this and kudos to EHG for trying something new.
CoF for this guy!
Maybe this helps?
I am not really sure, but they say
Since the reward of the prophecies they have shown is simply the drop of an item, and they also say
I understood it as augmenting the tier of generic affixes generated on that item. Meanwhile, I am referring to a passive way to increase the likelihood of a specific affix/base item on all dropped items. I am not sure if the prophecies system does that, but it seems like it does not.
Also, I think that prophecies are single-use consumable objects, and you need to continuously farm them with the telescopes. Is this how it works?
No, if there was prophecies for each specific item base and affix, there would be far too many types of prophecies to be able to navigate or acquire them.
They can have multiple uses, but they do get consumed and so you’ll need to visit the Observatory again to trade in your Favor for more prophecies.
Team CoF!
I like the changes very much, Big Thumbs up to EHG.
But at least we are now forced to play the Campaign to the end instead of switching to Monolith at Heoborea
Thank you for the reply! And also, congratulations for this MG/CoF system, it is really good
Ok, that was what I suspected. Do you guys have any plans for a system to increase the drop rate of specific affixes? This would be a huge help for finding specific exalted items and seems very thematic with the CoF.
I still don’t get this, quite. I love to boost my own MF and finding items myself for the most part. But if I don’t find what I’m looking for I usually cave-in and trade. Or when playing with friends, but then I HAVE to play in The Merchants Guild, if I’m like farming items for a friend?
This is kinda confusing to me, hehe… I love being a part of both worlds, but I’m not liking the restrictions, altho I get kinda why they’re there.
So if I then mostly play in Circle of Fortune, level up and doesn’t find what I need. Can I then swap over and buy the item from someone, and use it while still playing in Circle of Fortune? Or do I have to kinda choose and stick with it as it won’t be able to be used cross faction, or was that only the faction NPC bought items?
So finding an item when playing with friends can be used in either faction, or? So if they are one faction and I’m in a different one, that’s when the currencies come into play? Or do we need to have like one “set” of items for The Merchants Guild and one for Circle of Fortune, how does it really work?
No. An item purchased through the Bazaar will have a Merchant’s Guild Rank Requirement to equip the item. Changing back to Circle of Fortune means you will no longer meet that Merchant’s Guild rank requirement.
If you are in Merchant’s Guild:
- items you find will not have any Rank Requirements, so either members of Merchant’s Guild, or Circle of Fortune can equip them.
- Items purchased from the Bazaar have a Merchant’s Guild Rank Requirement to equip, so only Merchant’s Guild members can equip them
If you are in Circle of Fortune:
- Items you find that were effected by a Circle of Fortune effect will have the Circle of Fortune requirement on the item, so only players which are members of Circle of Fortune can equip them.
- If an item drops, it can be gifted to any player which was in the same party, in the same zone.
- You can also gift ‘any’ item to another player using a Resonance, though these take some time to acquire, and are just for the rare case of ‘We normally play together, but I happened to get this drop when my friend was offline’.
- If the item has a Faction Rank Requirement, the person receiving the gifted item will still need to meet the Faction Rank Requirement to equip it.
No, they shouldn’t. “Trade Lord” is not a class you get to pick at character creation, and it’s not a valid playstyle. Attempts to play an Action RPG as a wallstreet bro should be actively curtailed, and I’m glad that they’ve created a system that does.
Personally, I don’t like this. On the one hand you don’t want FOMO but on the other hand you’re “forcing” us to choose between potentially several nice prophecies.
Truedat. Especially the latter…
They are going to be a rare thing that you’re required to have played with the other person for a “long” time. It prevents RMTing but allows friends that play with each other to trade with each other (ignoring that MGers can do that anyway).
All trade requires a “sufficient” number of active participants, yes.
Because playing the market rather than playing the game is not how EHG want people to interact with the game. Plus scalpers are scum.
They will be reworked. Just because they kinda suck now doesn’t mean they’ll suck later.
Not all agree with you.
Cause ppl like you we have limitation.
I guees you want the trade to be “your vision” of the trade.
Guess limiting trade will limit players numbers.
“socialist/communist limitations to the market” Bro wtf you on?
Yes, that’s exactly right. And my vision of trade involves trading not being made worse by some people who want to screw everybody over in the market in the name of amassing fake digital wealth they’ll never use for anything. The game is about killing monsters, not RPing as Jordan Belfort to the detriment of 99% of other players.
So, I’m very thankful that the people who matter agree with me, and the ones who disagree… don’t.
No, “'cause the devs don’t want trade to be the best way of getting items” is why it’s not happening. Kain’s posted a comment above somewhere about it. This has nothing to do with community members & everything about the devs.
They can, they just need the resources to do it. Kinda like in “capitalist” societies…
Having a go at the person does not really enhance your argument & pushing someone else down doesn’t push you up.
