I’ll never understand people that feel like they have to bring down the “other” game to feel better about themselves.
People that seem to delight in other games’ failures (or in making them look that way).
Just enjoy your game and ignore the rest. Or enjoy them all.
Those are almost always run by players like Ziz (who also did the same in LE last Season). GGG just supports them, but more often than not they actually have no intervention in it.
Only for this latest challenge league did they actually go out of their way and created an MTX for it.
As for seasonal rewards, to be fair to PoE, they’ve offered MTX for it for many many years now. It was only at the start that they didn’t.
And, to be fair to LE, they also give you MTX for twitch drops. Proper MTX too, like pets and skill MTX, not just some effect like GGG usually does.
i think that are just really badly needed additions to POE2, also most of them were definetly already planned to add probably already years ago, and whats exactly they added ?
Awakened gems , run faster, Abyss League, some minor changes to crafting added tiers to some materials, MOST recycled things from POE1, the ONLY Really really BIG thing is the Trade extension…
whatever this post ist probably anyway just another ggg good ehg bad post without previous thinking about the real outcome of the answer…
but i have to say most LE stuff seems really good, but the league mechanic itself FEEELs similar to the other ones, Get an enemy LEvel It Up get em stronger killl em ( nemesis )
so hopefuiullly in the future they will be more different, elso i am really exiting about theoir new stuff
I like PoE2 but I’ll most likely not spend another dime there. They have enough of my money and I think it’s a bit sad they want even more money for their new trading stuff instead of making it able to use the tabs I bought for selling stuff to be used there as well.
That’s completely normal and as old as gaming. I still remember the Zak McKraken vs Monkey Island debates people had while I played both and liked both.“Use butterknife on three headed squirrel…” good old times… then Day of the Tentacle and microwaving a Hamster (don’t do this kids!) came arround and everything started again.
People defend what they like and if the only thing left to do is to make something else bad they will.
I don’t 100% agree with this. For example I could say WASD in PoE2 is awesome and WASD in LE is complete crap compared to WASD in PoE2 and a company should be ashamed of themself to distribute a WASD system so bad when other titles i nthe same genre show how it should be done.
Some people might think this is unfair but EHG descided to make a game and put themselfs out there so they better do a good ob and deliver or live with people who point out their shortcomings. That’s fair game from my point of view.
What I don’t get is “WoW is better then FF!” answered be “NO! FF is better then WoW by a long run!” answered by “Nah WoW is better.” what then was replied with “NO! DD is better!” for like 10 minutes without any other input. That’s just stupid.
MTX is fine to make money with as long as they game isn’t looking like trash without MTX. That’s why LE MTX makes me so happy because it looks completely fugly for my taste and I never had a split second where I thought “This would be nice do I burn some money?”.
While you need to pay for stuff that is most intresting and give a random pleb content creator a sub.
I can’t tell how far behind PoE is in their timeline. Iirc they wanted to release this year? Or was it next year? With all acts and classes in? I think PoE2 got some feedback they haven’t seen coming and now they need to change stuff arround that was never calculated in their workflow to please their paying custoumers… what is a good thing in the end.
I’ll still never understand it.
I don’t go around on the D4 forums saying that it sucks and LE/PoE/Whatever is miles better. I just enjoy LE.
I don’t feel better because D4 isn’t a better game. If anything I actually want D4 to be a better game so I can play both.
But some people just want other games to fail so they can feel better about their game.
But that was the OP. GGG added a lot more stuff, PoE2 is better, LE is going to be dead.
They’re giving you 8 free MTX (although 5 of them are just the same MTX for for each class) and only 1 you need to pay.
So even if you don’t want to pay a sub, you still get a bunch of free MTX, including a weapon MTX and a skill MTX.
Please stop making these troll PoE 2 doom post. You were wrong in the last one and you are wrong now. I know you are bored but just go hang out on the PoE 2 forums and talk about that game.
Last time I checked LE steam rolled PoE 2 last season and ate their lunch. PoE 2 had the worst season in their history (overwhelmingly negative tanking their rating) and has to win back their players. This was all pointed out in your last doom post.
I read the PoE 2 patch notes, I do play both games and i’ll likely check it out too in a few months when I’m finished with the amazing Season 3 of LE. PoE 2 is just a waiting room for the new LE season because LE is just a better and “complete” game.
If you are hype about PoE 2 nothing wrong with that but you are in the wrong forums and trolling.
Steam ratings one is doing better than the other and why PoE 2 was scared to launch before LE again.
Quite funny that the numbers on steam don’t support your claims.
I guess current 75k for a league launch is not a downgrade in your book from 150k.
But i guess we have different way to look at numbers.
In many places school started fresh, holiday seasons are over and so on and so forth. Then this time of the year still counts as the summerhole where player numbers are meh anyway. There are a lot of factors . So either you compare all data or non to begin with because in the end the discussion will lead to no end .
I think tomorroww or on saturday there will be more players and if not so be it. 0.3 didn’t hype me that much at all and I can understand why people keep away. Then again I guess it’s more about it beeing summer the nanything else.
i want to like POE2 but the fundamental part of POE that makes POE POE is the ludicrous drop rates. the only time i’ve actually really crafted stuff was in harvest league. i detest the fact that for most players, buying gear is almost always a better thing to do than crafting.
theres so many improvements to the game that i feel like jumping back to my level 90 character and just seeing how it feels. but one fact that will gnaw at me is i ll end up farming divines for upgrades.
as for spending money. i’ve spent so much my real name is in the credits of poe 1. lol and i whaled so much. i was damn high on copium and hopium for the game only to finally realize after 10 years, the game is just not for me.
somehow the PoE 2 endgame (maps , towers etc) is not fun for me. Even PoE 1 atlas is much better. I just don’t like huge maps with dead ends and tasks like ‘kill 17 rare mobs’ so I am forced to clear all the map which is boring. Maybe they will improve that I don’t know. Plus I dont like trading (always CoF in LE) and PoE is 99% about trading, I start a new league in PoE 1 /2 and after ~1 week I get bored and quit.
The numbers on Steam do support his claim. Current Steam Ratings for Last Epoch are 84% positive, for PoE 2 they’re 73% positive. PoE 2 had 578k players during their 1st season and 246k during their second. You assume they’re going to peak way higher than LE this season, and they might, but they also might not. But as to current numbers it’s not close, LE has way more players currently and it’s actually 70k vs 10k at the moment. More importantly player count was not the claim. The claim was that it’s a better, more complete game, which is reflected in the review scores. That claim holds.
Feel like some people are trying to argue on something they didnt even watch the announcement for.
I dont even know what OP said since I have him ignored for some reason, but I completely agree with the title`s premise, and people are arguing over things that are straight up not true/inaccurate.
Notice how on the website, it now says “secure item”, and no more “direct whisper”.
This probably mean, once you hit that button, the item will be secured for a while so you to go there and grab it. No more being too late cases after that.
They`re giving the option to convert premium stash tabs to merchants tabs for free.
And I have the feeling the people stanning for PoE2 haven’t actually made it past Act 1 yet. In the first days you literally won’t even see your listing show up for half a day. Their servers aren’t just delayed, they are sending packages via pidgeon. And once everything somewhat functions, you have 3 types of sales:
Instant, where you either underpriced or it’s something that always sells quickly, like lenses. Those will result in 20 people clicking the button and jumping into your HO, all rummaging through your stash and then flaming you.
Medium, where you sell something after a few minutes. Those are never a problem, because you usually just jump out of a map and trade once.
Slow trades. High-priced crafting items or perfectly roled uniques. Those will be, obviously, benefitting from the new system.
But the question is - why the fuck can’t we just have a normal auction house? Why does the sprint need you to fall on your face? Why do I need to play fucking piano to avoid a damage penalty from my elemental skills?
Every single thing is made to be as obnoxious and full of friction as possible. It’s like the entire design philosophy is “How can we make it less convenient and pleasant to use?”
And why? Because ego. Because Jonathan was told that we want MS by the OVER SIXTY PERCENT of people were playing the same fucking build of LS Rhoa. And everyone was screaming for an AH. And what do we get? The most scuffed, most annoying, most ass-backwards implementation of that.
Like, I’m sorry, but they straight up are incapable of admitting they were wrong. “Asynchronous Trading”. They are actually, physically incapable of saying “yeah, okay, we tried a stupid idea for 12 years, here is an AH, sorry guys”
