Let me correct you… Leech cant survive at a 2001 damage single hit but can survive at a dps equal to the life leech per seconds.
A Ward char has a higher starting buffer but has a ward gen. very bad.
Except for rare combos, it is rare to die oneshotted (except by a boss).
Yes, this is why they are different as Heavy said. One is better sustaining “small” hits the other is a bigger pool with which to absorb bigger less frequent hits.
I generally agree with the OP.
What you are saying may be true, but it would require someone smarter than me to make the build.
My spellblade was running monos and it wasn’t even the least challenge.
Got to empowered monos, only 100 corruption, put 4 to 5 mods up on a mono, and now i’m getting 1-shot constantly OR getting ground down by the large mobs.
large mobs with a +attack speed mob is extremely dangerous because the quickly wear down your ward buffer (and i have 1400 life sitting behind that).
The point here is that the spellblade, being a melee, should have access to defenses commensurate with being melee. if it does, it seems to be non-obvious to access.
The OP is exactly right on flame ward. Bosses, no problem, but you get a large set of mobs and they are much more dangerous because of the cooldown. even the cooldown on teleport is a significant problem. many times i see that i’m in trouble and there’s no way to get away (because the mobs also have a movespeed mod, lol).
It seems to me that one of the main problems with Wards is that too many sources need to be in order to generate them well, while each source is weak in itself.
One of the options would be to strengthen the individual sources of the Wards, but at the same time, reduce the number of these sources.
Tbh, i dont remember. I did this report 1 month and half ago.
Large group monster in Mono with 4-5 mods quickly wear down my ward and I cant generate enough ward. However it happened to me sometimes not to be able to react in time.
Boss or single big enemy are no a problem… probably are more easy that with a life build tbh but most of content is monster pack.
Boots give me more ward than life. I get 1k Ward and I lose 800-850 life i think and help me with ward degen as well.
Exsanguinos = Lose very a lot armor and dps. The dps is not so high as to allow you to lose more of it especially witth a lot Corrupttion
You forget Armor from Teleport and Arcane Shield as well. Furthermore you want me equip Exsanguinos and lose “323 flat armor + 48% increased armor”.
No block because dual wielding. Replace a sword, lower damage taken but lower a lot your dps and ward generation as well.
Spellblade dont stack dodge.
Low life no need endurance. To reach max endurace, you need two additional craft / property so you need to lower dps or other defense to raise it.
I understand what you mean anyway. This is my Life / Lifeleech Builf
I was able to afford to increase the dps and put in new defensive layers because I only had to craft Health on equip, Leech on gloves and put only 5 talent points to make Leech strong enough.
If you see the investment in Ward in the other build it is extremely higher and still does not reach the leech effectiveness of this build.
I think that the developers were mistaken in that they made too much bet on the Wards in the Blade leveling. All his bonuses and passives just scream, pump me through the Wards.
But this is erroneous in terms of survival and resource costs.
Blade as a melee should be more balanced, “strong not only in mind, but also in body”, in contrast to Sork. And that’s where Blade’s skills don’t help much.
