Solo Self Found

I’m so disappointed that solo self found has evolved into “solo account found”.

For me part of the allure of playing this way is the complete udder disregard that can be afforded to rejecting any and all items not related to the character you are playing.

Now I know I can just impose these rules on myself, but its like being asked to go on a diet while you’re working at an ice cream shop.

And the stash tabs.

I LOVE the idea of of having a character buy his very own exclusive tabs, that are not cluttered by loot from other “solo self found” characters.

And as a side note, besides being able to use the “Online only” cosmetics, what would be the purpose of playing a SSF online?

I recall reading somewhere that they have at least been discussing about the ability to reset everything. Note that this is indeed “i recall”. I cannot point to where I saw or who exactly said it or any links.

Then again, there to my understanding there will be seasons. These are likely complete resets anyway.

Also… are there actually any arpg’s that have SSF made the way you described? Even older game like d2 has shared stash, I believe, though I havent played that one in a long time (never got the remastered version). Of arpg’s that I have played, I think only d1 didn’t have anything shared and thats ancient game.

According to this post .9 introduced shared solo self found account shared stash to this game.

I guess prior it was “pure ssf”.

I should have just responded on this thread:

Same reason for other games in the genre that work that way. It allows you to build a stash to pull from and work towards but still remain “pure” and not tainted by potential carries/trading etc.

I think both versions should exist. I personally enjoy shared stash SSF, but also really came to enjoy “solo” characters for the reasons you described.

We will just have to wait and see if the devs re add completely solo characters for online.

Ah but you can’t really, crafting materials ruin it. SSF works if you ignore crafting in the game (and gold), but as soon s you want to interact with that system in endgame, it becomes effectively impossible to keep track of, unless you never store them, and then that reduction in qol just makes it feel way worse.

But don’t worry, numerous people in the community have brought this up to them, ever since we discovered it would be a thing, i’m sure there’ll be an option for us in the next 5 years.

Didn’t think about that.

Chat.

Ladders also/Integrity of the character for community things, or speedrunning etc… (none of these seem to matter though, the solution we were given was to contact support to get an account reset. Which doesn’t work when you take in the slowness of customer support responses, and the ability to still exploit that in a way to give you advantages. But it’s cool, they implemented slightly more fancy ladders, that we need to use a third party site to track, and had (still have? honestly stopped keeping track of issues) bugs with hardcore characters still being able to push after dying)

There is plenty of people to chat with in offline mode. Try it.

You guys, I just made a character offline and an option under “Challenge”

“Character Found”

“This Character will not have access to any items or resources collected on any other characters”

This is it! Has this been here the whole time?

Yes.

Offline modes:

  • Standard: all the stash and crafting materials are shared
  • Solo self-found: every character has separate stash and crafting materials

Online modes:

  • Standard: all the stash and crafting materials are shared, you can play with others
  • Solo account-found: all the stash and crafting materials are shared, you can’t play with others, basically the same as offline’s Standard, but your character is stored on a server
