You could try going low life Blade Master using Architects of Astral Blood and the Death’s Door Passive in Blade Master tree that give a flat 24% damage reduction. Then you just stack health and armor. You can even add blade shield from the shuriken tree for even more armor.
My Shadow Rend Hybid Build also goes for fairly high hit damage reduction layering armor with glancing blows, and 20% damage reduction while moving. It uses ward on shadow creation affixes to generate thousands of ward on top of a life build. It also has 50% to 70% dodge but you don’t fall apart when you get hit.
