Repeatedly asked for over 5 years: please let us disable or rebind right-click-to-equip

And it should be disabled by default. Or let us lock equipped items. Or any of the other options previously suggested to fix what many of us consider a gigantic design flaw.

The game is more fun right now than ever, but I still get the rage quit feeling every time this nightmare rears up, remembering all the characters I’ve screwed up with this backwards feature by realizing it too late. When I talk to friends about trying the ARPGs I like, all of them come with warnings, and most of them have many. But LE only has this one: “for some reason they chose shift+right-click to transfer or sell items, and also right-click to swap your equipment.”

Please.

Please.

Interesting. I never ever had this happen to me.

Just curious: are you playing with sound? Equipping and selling have different sound cues and IMO it is very noticeable and should make you alert and pay attention if you click and hear the wrong audio cue.

This would help, if we could get it added.

Can we also please get this added while were at it

Thank you -

I do play with sound. Could be this is an accessibility problem also.

Sometimes I just misclick right instead of left without realizing. Sometimes I’m repeatedly (attempting) shift+right-click and once or twice in the middle it registers only the right-click. For me, this issue has survived three separate PCs including keyboards and mice.

If ctrl+left-click ever gets bound to something significant like this, it’s game over for me, as that is the transfer command in every other ARPG I’ve played and I accidentally try it here almost every play session.

I was trying for a bit to consider these few commands from a game identity perspective, and think I made myself even more annoyed about it. Pretty much all of the control scheme is the same as other ARPGs, most likely because these are the expectation of a well defined genre over decades. Got my qwerty and number binds, left click to move, right click to attack, click and drag items around screens, red HP circle, blue MP circle, all good and I feel at home.

Well, that’s a full inventory, better empty to the dump tab to sort later, and
 ctrl + click
 click click
click click click. Huh? Right click? Why is that different? And why is half what I had equipped in my stash now?

I could invent theories why this short list of commands was chosen to be different, but all still feel arbitrary. And now I’m feeling bitter. Said no one ever: “ohh yeah, LE really stands above with shift+right instead of crtl+left, so innovative, I love having two common commands be different in this one title, so refreshing.”

But seriously, please, just let us disable or change it. This is not a game defining feature. Except for the people like me who hate it. Not a great way to stand out.

Moving items default keybind should be with LMB not RMB, terrible choice of default keybinds and cant rebind. This needs to be fixed yesterday

Yeah, I remember having this happen to me early on, too. At least they made it so that you can buyback the items you accidentally sold. But maybe if you exit the game right after, you can’t buyback.

No reason for them to not let us rebind. I get that being able to rebind to anything could possibly break some things, so they could just give us a few options to choose between instead. And they should do they same for the other unbindable things like compare items, show mod range, extra information on affixes. I think these are even more important to be able to rebind.
