Like I’ve said on Discord this game has always been amazing and just keeps getting better from that.
The launch was rough and sadly it came with a lot of hate and it was exhausting even for many of us not even being a part of the team having to see that crap in-game-chat, on discord, on social media, on steam… everywhere! But please don’t let it get to you. Keep your spirit up and continue to do the fantastic job you do on this great game
Thanks for the update! Looking forward to all the amazing things you guys will do. I honestly haven’t been this addicted to a game in many many years!
Regarding Steam review: if No Man’s Sky was able to turn it around (and that game’s negative reviews were because of bad gameplay not online issues) I have full confidence people will see the light with Last Epoch!
Thanks, Judd, and all the Devs. Although it was a rough start - you guys made it through, even with the sometimes harsh and unfair internet communities, that were summoned here. Big Credit to the whole team! Once you can - you deserve some vacation!
Mixed reviews on steam sucks but its understandable, i’m glad you’re taking approach of regaining trust with people. As time shows, review ratings will gradually move up in time so in the long run its not gonna stay at “mixed” forever, specially since the only problem people have with the game is not being able to access it lol.
I’m gonna play phew hundred more hours and write up a positive review later on, when all server problems are gonna get resolved and people calm down, to make it count.
Server stability has massively improved, and it’s quite noticeable. I think we’ve all seen your hard work to fix this. The backlash when servers are down is to be expected, but, whatever, it won’t last! I want to remind everybody that, for other similar games, we’d usually get a queue and never really get to play in the first few days anyway. Personally, I feel like EHG has been a lot quicker to fix these issues.
As I was accompanying everything on Reddit, Discord and the Forums, I kinda feel like part of the team, hoping for the best and feeling a ton of empathy with the guys, because their effort was visible, as was their planning! An unprepared team would never have been able to handle this in the first week.
For me, there’s just this feeling of belonging that EHG brings to their playerbase. I bought this game a long time ago, and I think I’ve played it the most out of any other ARPG, (and I’ve played nearly all of them). Each class and mastery is top notch! Incredibly fun to play! I always come back to it, from time to time, to try out a new mastery or grind a bit. Why? Because itemization is top, and the Eternity Cache is just sweeeet! Dungeons that matter!? Who’d figure!
Now, I really just have to wait for a Forge Guard rework, and I’ll be happy to pick up the mastery!
Seriously, guys, well done! Beautiful game! Leveling is incredible, skills feel meaningful (and I use them all, not just one OP skill per build; all of them are relevant). The graphics bump up is also pretty cool, with the weather variations (love that). Animations are hitting a sweet spot for me as well! What can I say, I love Last Epoch and I’ll support this team to the end of the world!
So how does this new “pinnacle” content differ from dungeons?
Dungeons have bosses (which just need a bit of balancing to make them harder)
Those bosses drop boss specific uniques
Those bosses are separate from monoliths and require separate process (mainly key and dungeon mechanic although keys are abundant enough to be not counted)
So then, please tell me how the new pinnacles will differ? I hope it isn’t gonna be just a super hard boss with rare and strong drops like in Path of Exile.
This was indeed somehow expected by many of us, the visual upgrades are incredible, but on the technical department, LE has always been on the buggy-messy side, and unlike with visuals, we didn’t see a sign of technical improvement and polish during the latest patches of EA.
Sadly, you guys have been warned constantly by your followers and fans, we were REALLY concerned of a bad 1.0 launch, there’s absolutely no way to fully recover from that. Lets pray for a partial recover, but the lands have been tainted and there’s no 100% solution to what happened other than… going back in time! ^^
I also would like to add my Thank You for juggling the initial burst of people trying to play. Having experienced myself the issues, I am pleased to say that it now is much (MUCH) better. I appreciate all the hard work behind and in front of the scenes. I actually upgraded my initial purchase to the ultimate edition. My upgrade is from how well you have handled your community to the fantastic game you have created. I am a casual player that enjoys your setup of making any combination of abilities to suit my style; rather than having to use a guide or min/max a build. Again, Thank You!
In my humble opinion, Last Epoch is the best ARPG on the market and aside from server issues, launches with the most content out of any arpg launch (including POE, D3, D4 etc) and also holds the brightest future for any ARPG. Its the best foundation and start of an arpg that you can have with its beautiful game world, great classes and build diversity, itemization, crafting, and endgame systems.
