Please add Mana Leech

My Issue with LGOH is for slow attacking builds. Every skill would need LGOH modifier like added dmg. I do see your point, but it might be fine with a numbers tweak.

metor is like playing a fist of war build in POE. Very slow big hits. The ways to get around this is to group up enemies while you mana is regening. For bosses drop the meteor then use some mana recovery mechanic or just dodge boss attacks. some recovery mechanics include craterborn on the meteor passive tree, focus, or mana strike. It pair well with the gamblers fallacy unqiue.

The simple answer is that meteor is a really big nuke that hits very hard. If you were able to spam it with no mana issues, the skill would always be better than any other skill with low mana cost as these usually do less damage.

Big damage = Huge mana cost / cooldown
Big CC = Cooldown

The gameplay also would always end in builds were you only use that one skill with mana leech being a mandatory stat for every character.

I really like the LE approach on mana. You are forced to work around restrictions like cooldown and mana cost with mana efficiency, mana reg abilities / mechanics and cooldown recovery. This will never lead to a point where you can avoid these restrictions completely. But if you invest into it, you can make it feel better. And you will need to use more than only one offensive ability.

I find the mana leech approach of other games not that well thought out. Often a skill feels awfully limited, so you don’t use it at all untill you have that one mana leech item or passive that makes that manacost irrelevant.

Maybe the balance of damage potential and mana cost isn’t always in the optimal spot when you compare skills.

Definitely a big No to mana leech…

Not doing the math, but couldnt Health leech effectiveness be reduced simply by increasing the time over which it is returned to the player… Instead of 3 seconds, make it 4,5,6 or even 10. Leave everything else as is. At the moment the delay is already a weakness unless the leech has been stacked hugely… the delay would address this as it would divide the total leech returned / second much more, thereby making for a more active health bar - gaining health progressively rather than full heals constantly…

Sure the maths gurus will find a problem but seems a simple solution to “Test” without much effort.
