high mob or minion density and multiple concurrent skill procs
Not my case.
there are also maps that are more complicated and require more from a system than others
In my case the map can work perfectly fine, execept when it bugs out for no apparent reason.
Obviously in-game settings dramatically impact on the extent on the performance loss in these types of situations.
Tried to switch between the highest and lowest settings. It increases my performance from 10 to 25 fps, but doesn’t solve the root problem.
Your OS could use an update
Done
On this same note, please make sure that all your laptop firmwares/bios/device drivers are up to date…
Don’t know how to do this.
Your GPU drivers
Updated
Laptops have their own voodoo juice that handles swapping between the iGPU and discreet GPU
As discussed above, iGPU doesn’t seem to be related
make 100% sure that the laptop is locked in performance mode when trying to play LE
I’m sure about this. The laptop is plugged in and it has an LED that shows that it’s in the performance mode.
On the same note… make sure that the voodoo sauce app that your laptop uses is also up-to-date…
Still on the TODO list.
As you are using Steam, please make sure to do a game file verification to ensure that the install is ok…
Tried to do the verification. Tried to uninstall (+ manualy deleting the old game directory) and reinstalling. Also tried to delete the directory with graphics config. Didn’t help.
Your system is reporting LiveKernelEvent 17d errors … but I would recommend you look at your View Reliability History and Event viewer
In the Reliability History didn’t find anything interesting during the last several weeks.
In the Event viewer there’s some stuff, but don’t know if it’s related to Last Epoch and how to fix it.
However, what you are experiencing is not something that can be reproduced
Unfortunatelly, agree. I also tried to run through the same route on another device (using Gerforce Now) and couldn’t repro the problem.
Did you install anything new between your last playthrough and playing on this new patch? Anything upgrades, updated?
As already discussed, drivers probably were updated since then, also windows, the game itself, I installed a lot of other games too, but don’t remember anything that’d run in the background together with Last Epoch.
are there any overrides or half vsync settings enabled on your GPU… Is there anything the driver is enforcing like antialiasing etc?
Not that I know of.
I have been playing for about 18months and the game has never allowed vsync and framerate limiting at the same time - its illogical for it to have ever done this.
Agree that it’s illogical, but I believe it allowed to configure that to me around 8.2 .
I would assume that Nvidias own performance overlay would be reporting its card correctly?
No idea.
So what kind of overlock/boost configuration do you have enabled to get those kinds of numbers? What BIOS configs are enabled for overlocking? Are you overlocking things?
I didn’t do any overclocking myself. Everything by default. My laptop has 3 perfomance modes, “balanced” - aka low perfomance, “Enthusiast” - the one that I’m using for all games, “Overboost” - never use it, even much more demanding games run fine on Enthusiast.
No idea what kind of overclocking is hidden behind these settings.
My theory is that during the broken section GPU just doesn’t recieve enough work because one of the CPU cores is topped at 100% (at least if we can trust what Task Managers shows).
