On hit vs DoT

ALso just realised i have some t6/t7 li rakas i forgot they have 120% chance to poison on hit as well as the throwing stats I already have on them

Coming back to the topic, how come equipping “cold pen with frostbite” raises the character sheet damage for frostbite, but equipping “cold pen” does not?

Man some of the calculations in this game for sheet DPS is weird and I just take it with a grain of salt like 1.5 million shield throw thats actually more like 250 because its calculating the ricochets - then as you say sometimes ill add a fire pen with ignite item and dps meter goes nuts but then adding plain fire pen can’t calculate the added damage.

I would say thats probably why pen can’t make a calculation as it’ll be different vs different monsters and their penetration resistance vs when its adding in a dmg multiplier (does that make sense it does in my head but my heads a weird place)

So I have 3 staffs - different rolls on them so thats a biggy but the posion damage and posion on hit took me to 21 and 24k dmg and then the dot one on the best staff put me on 33k with 600ish percent added damage over time atm this is as i hit 40 and chucked on elecoes, the plague staff seems really fkn cool already have enough regen that it doesnt do anything but the plague spread seems great and its +166% posion pene for plague suffers

I was going to use my throwing dmg omni but now im considering serpents milk as i got a few lp2s last night they have good poison resistance and damage pre done and high throwing speed rolls on mine, 200% falc poison on hit might help stacks build faster too ignoring the less poison dmg for minion (I think stacks, stack? minion and mine?) then I can slam throwing speed + more damage over time if i get a nice ammy to slam

That’s penetration with plague (1 stack cap but higher base damage) not for enemies affected by plague.

That wouldn’t affect the poison stacks but would affect any throwing skills you’re using to apply the poison.

It would, the damage of each stack is tracked independently so the less minion poison damage would have a big effect on how much poison damage your falcon does. The amulet isn’t great now that poison’s innate resist shred is capped. And by “isn’t great” I mean “is quite bad if you care about the minion poison damage”. It used to be used to build more stacks & thus lower the target’s poison resists to buff your damage on account of the much lower resists.

Mmm yeah plague seems to wipe big screens of lowbie enemies nicely but that seems about its only benefit - im at 166% throwing speed which I thought is fairly decent but it’s bottlenecked by how slow the projectiles fly so even with near 500% on hit struggling to get over 200 stacks of poison on stuff (compared to my swarmblade who maxes out due to attack speed its terrible) sort of hovers around there til they die I was doing 90’s monos before at 58-60 and yeah its “ok” but based on gear I already have it’s going to struggle to move up much further dmg wise how I have it now - no drama tho because Im an idiot i start working on other builds while levelling these ones hahah!

PS thank you as usual, all of you <3

Have you tried explosive Umbral Blades? Or just plain Umbral Blades… Now I want to do another Umbral Blades character.

The only umbrals I did this season was starting a umbral falconer the meta meta of the season but I didnt last past level 89 lol I watched this guy last season on YT a chinese guy with 1200 hp doing 10000 corruption with umbrals it was crazy! I can’t even safely do 100 with 1200 hp haha!

I did check the umbral tree to see if the flasks had carry over and saw explosive blades but didnt click - but like i just wanted the flasks to do all the heavy lifting ya know? lol

That is definitely a visual a bug, you should defintiely report that in the IGBR or here in the Bug Reports.

Generally character sheet and tooltip things are far from perfect in LE right now, they need constant improvements.

For more accurate sheet info, you should use LETools planner. Dammit did a good job (still ongoing) of making the stats reflect on the character sheet.
In game, it’s an ongoing problem that the devs are aware of and want to fix. A revamp of the character sheet has been talked about for quite some time now, but still wasn’t delivered.

Like Heavy said, when you encounter these situations, you should report them, so they have more info on what/how to fix.

Well I figured it wasn’t a bug, but that basic pen didn’t affect dots, and required a special tag like “pen for X effect” in order to apply to dots.

I did report a tooltip bug where, it seems, Frozen Ire DRASTICALLY boosts tooltip damage for frostbite, way beyond what any affixes on it should be doing.

Nope, % poison pen will affect any player poison damage.
