I believe tomorrow’s post will be diving into Corruption and Altars; something to look forward to!
A new boss, hell yea. Looking forward to the new season.
And gj on the new supporter packs, they look sick imo. Especially the Fractured Templar one.
New season looks great - but the new cosmetics … they don’t look great.
I’ve purchased every legend supporter pack … But I don’t think I want to buy this one. The cosmetic armors are silly looking. They’re so over-the-top, complicated, flamboyant, convoluted looking armor sets. Let us get some classic looking cosmetics instead. The readability of the MTX cosmetics is so low I just get confused at what I’m looking at…
EHG please, go back to the drawing board with the cosmetic armors. I would love to see simple and elegant classic RPG armor sets instead. The Fractured Templar is definitely the best of the 3 in this legend supporter pack, because it’s aesthetically coherent!
There’s a time and place for the kinds of cosmetics that you are releasing… But now is not the time, we need a foundation of simple and attractive armor sets first.
With Love.
Big fan
Patch looks decent but a little underwhelming for 7 months, unfortunately regarding supporter packs i am not going to buy them anymore unless you solve the unfair pricing issue for Poland, not going to pay over 15 bucks extra for a Legend pack every single time because apparently my messages on feedback and ask-the-devs channels on Discord don’t reach anyone at EHG except Mike who at least cared enough to reply for which i thank him a lot.
The Fractured Templar set literally looks like the character is wearing some generic armor that’s available in the game as an item… I think the Legendary and Vanquisher sets turned out well—at the very least, they’re not that boring, ugly mess from Season 3.
Oh my god, what a cute little animal. That’s exactly what I was talking about. Something to walk around with and please my eyes. I’m definitely buying it.
Well you are going to now because you are breaking your items with the new mechanic. You are using vastly more materials in this patch since items will brick due to corruption. So you need both more items and more materials to compensate. If you played PoE this mechanic removes tons of materials and items from the economy.
You slam your primordial item, corrupt it… and it breaks. Now you buy another primordial item. You slam your primordial item, corrupt it… doesn’t break but isn’t ideal. You now finally get a 2 LP primordial item you slam it replace the corrupted one… You wait till you can get another 2 LP primordial item so you can corrupt one of them. It breaks. Rinse repeat.
Your items and materials will be used. Corruption will be breaking items and burning materials constantly at a very high rate.
I can’t help but feel this would have been more interesting had we not been told about it months ago.
This is one of the things I think Path of Exile does better than Last Epoch - they don’t talk about anything past the next league, and even the next league’s reveal only happens very close to release.
Meanwhile, in Last Epoch we have been told about an expansion that may not come until 2027, and all the major features of the next league are already known.
GGG was founded 19 years ago. PoE released 13 years ago. They were bought by Tencent 8 years ago.
EHG and Last Epoch is still very early in development and why they were bought by Krafton because they needed funding to expand their team and continue to even release new seasons. Maybe give EHG a couple years before comparing them to a company and game with astronomical development and money.
It’s actually not a fair comparison. You are asking them to fly and they just started to walk.
100% people think because other studios are around and LE might have an ability to copy a mechanic they should magically be 10 years progressed than where they are now. It’s ridiculous.
I understand you logic, but I already buy as many primordial items as I can. What I mean is that I have way more ancient bones than other beast fragments. Increasing gold drops with the blessing and weaver tree also increases ancient bones drops (because they are converted from gold). Right now I have 800k ancient bones, 240 crystallized hearts, but no primordial horns, that get consumed in large quantities to buy memory amber, and a primordial item for my main build requires them too. There is a possibility to convert beast fragments, but it’s very ineffective, I’d rather reserve them for other primordial items, in case I’d want any in the future.
Depending on the chances to get a useful corruption outcome, I may rather put a 1LP primordial into a turtle instead.
That’s why I don’t need ancient bones. If I could instead buy memory amber with Timeglass Fragments, that would be cool.
Holy heck I have like 14k bones atm but 1000s of all other pieces, well 900ish hearts - I’ve brought a bit of amber but most of that comes from troves. I would fricking love 800k bones haha! #jealous
Did I skip over the part where they talk about s5? Honest question.
Great job EHG, we are all very hyped about season 4. Can’t wait for more details this week, the final patch notes and March 26th !!!
Hyped!

-full patch notes with bugfixes n nerfs
No, it is actually not.
There is a reason why their competitor GGG had major ongoing complaints of ‘only this thing is good now’ for years before backpedaling and dislodging the cross-drops substantially… and doing so on a ongoing basis even.
Any game which does this deprecates their invested effort rather then expanding the scope of the game. Scope can be reduced at times and it’s necessary, but LE is by far not at that point. Hence it’s a pure negative action.
Entertainment is worthless if it doesn’t provide any form of results. If you provide a mechanic which drops ‘nothing’ and it feels great people will still do the mechanic which gives them stuff despite being atrocious in comparison. That’s the reality.
People optimize the fun out of the game, and that’s a major issue a developer has to manage. It’s not the task of the player to adjust their view for bad design, players use what is provided simply.
Your argument has always been a fallacy and I won’t get further into it, read up on the respective game design realizations over the course of years for life-service games. Be it this genre or others which have similar troubles. You can see a clear-cut outcome for this situation, it’s never failed to realize itself to date.
If you were talking about the frequency of updates or about the amount of content on each release, you might have had a point.
Not talking too much about a future that isn’t guaranteed, in other hand, is something even solo developers can do. This is a failure in communication, not a matter of scope.
Season 5 will have Rage of Morditas as its season mechanic (or so EHG said).
I had forgotten that, though they haven’t “talked about” s5, they’ve given a roadmap for the next season & expansion with a handful of bulletpoints. That’s about as much conversation as I get from 2 of my teenage kids. And don’t forget that the community asked for a roadmap.
Can’t wait to play another ESVK, please don’t nerf it.
Excited to try out the omens! Hopefully the corruptions come with some gamebreaking affixes.
