New unique unbroken legion.... why?

You know what, why not

https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/BZ3avZNX

Normally I don’t like sharing my builds. I don’t want to risk getting them nerfed any more than they are already likely to by making them more popular. But this version has the ‘special sauce’ pulled out and this is just a pretty basic version of a hit skelly, in my opinion.

The idols and the altar and the enchants on the exalts are very much so ‘something in this general direction’ rather than a hard and fast requirement. There’s nothing here higher than LP2, and those that are LP2 are 1 in 25 or better. There’s no uniques that are not either common or guaranteed drops used. This isn’t some tight build, like you’ll notice Reduced Bonus Damage from Crits is at 142%, because you’re not actually hitting RBDC on all sources and the important part is just to get it to 100% or as close as you can to it.

If with the gear you actually have survivability becomes too much of a concern, you could always swap out the T-Rex for the Bones of the Ancestral Pack and an exalted Runed Bones relic. But unless you’re pushing high corruption well before hitting this state or better it really should be fine. And the T-Rex roar provides a very nice damage boost, given the flat hits the rogues.

The Cleaver Solution allows you to pump flat via T-Rex, Armor, and all Int-based scaling at the same time. But if you don’t have one, any +flat exalt is fine, along with then pumping Int instead of Str. Ideally you stack Int on your starter gear and then assemble closer-to-ideal versions with Str and switch over fully (gear and passives) only once switching to Str is a net increase in Int. Like obviously Apocrypha 7 / Deadened Nerves 3 is better in Lich before you have Cleaver online. The boots are the highest leverage piece for that transition.

I’ve pushed nowhere near the limits of what Rogues can do, so I may find that I need higher health regen, and it’s worth dumping 10 more into Lich to snag more Vit and then Bed of Souls’ 5 point. If that were the case the points would probably come from Effigies and scraping 2/2/1 out of Invigorated Dead, Tyrant’s Legion and Sharpened Bones, which also tells you the last 10 I’d put in as you’re levelling.

Oh and if you have a corrupted idol that grants poison immunity, or if you are just less lazy about resummoning minions than I am, you would then slide 4 points out of Lone Watcher, Flesh Harvest, and 2 from Lingering Doom and take Wasting Essence (2) - Vile Ghast - Pernicious Pact. And if I was already over there and my minion Crit wasn’t maxed I’d probably slide the point out of Symbiotic Apparition (it’s just a QOL cast speed buff for you) and into Egoism.

I was typing a lot of observations about how a thing or two seemed odd and then some things started to click on what is potentially your secret formula. I feel really dumb for not having noticed this one particular thing now.

I’ll probably have to figure out a way to make that work though but since you don’t want to leak the secret sauce and I think i may have noticed it I’ll say nothing about it. Personally I’d share it because of 2 things. One being that Mike said in 1.6 they are going to be touching every single skill so nothing is going to remain as is. Another is, I doubt this will do better than bleed and while bleed is slower at early stages once the bleed magnitudes start ramping up enemies will still die so fast that it won’t make much of a difference between hit and not… Well ok in your secret sauce it may have one significant difference if it is what I think it is but overall it’s still less power.

fascinating somehow that planner doesn’t gets the same nitpicking of “this isn’t something an average guy can get”.

It doesn’t because it’s not a proper build cause he’s keeping his secret stuff hidden but things like double exalted affixes I don’t consider realistic for the average guy, I’m just downgrading the T6 to T5 so it has only one exalted affix and I’m doing significant changes to bring the build where I feel it should be. and losing a not insignificant amount of tank in the process.

Can I point out that with the build I’ve shown you instead had to point out all the nitpicks of this world and more, while with that one you had a soft handed approach?

Do you get why I accuse you of arguing in bad faith?

Look. If it makes you feel happy, I’ll point out that the way I figured this build is actually meant to be working which has some significant differences than as it was presented is even harder than yours (except that it doesn’t needs to farm a vessel of strife, that is a nightmare) because of the need for something specific.

However a good reason I am not talking about it much at all is because he wanted to keep his stuff secret so I’m not going out and pointing out all the issues with that even if it still a strong build because that would just reveal it.

They didn’t touch Shadow Rend so I’m not sure your concerns are too valid.

What kind of corrupted idol grants poison immunity? I’ve scoured all the affixes but couldn’t find one like that.

Your passive tree has things in it that don’t make sense. Why do you have points in disciples of necromancy? You don’t use skeleton mages. You’re also going for a skeleton hit build. Skeletons can achieve 100% crit chance but you don’t have blades of the forlorn for 70% more crit damage.

You have a total of 616% increased minion dmg which is on the low side as well.

Disciples of Necromancy is just a mistake. The points there should have been elsewhere, in Invigorated Dead and Tyrant’s Legion. I even quoted those points as being fungible and talked about moving them but didn’t have them on there. Updated and edited to replace the link. Thanks for pointing out the error.

The Blades of the Forlorn question is fair, so let’s talk through it.

It’s +7% crit multiplier per point. The build already sits around 247% from the ring implicits, so 10 points is 247 → 317: 28% more damage at 100% crit, scaling down based on rate - 24% at the 84% on the planner, 14% at 50%. Per point that’s 2.4% more / 2.1 / 1.4. Frantic Summons’ last five points (72 → 92% IAS) are about 2.3% more damage from IAS per point. So Blades is roughly even with Frantic at full crit and behind it everywhere short of that — and crit chance for me is the stat that fills out last, because damage isn’t even close to the problem. Personal sustain is the only thing preventing me from rocketing ever higher in corruption. So my feel is, a node that’s correct only once you’ve finished the build and wrong the whole way there is the wrong node for a planner people are levelling towards and using as a rough guiding direction, it creates a trap.

The bigger issue is what you’d take the 10 points from. Nothing in the tree is cheap:

  • Grave Thorns — prerequisite, can’t move.

  • Soul Conduits — the ward engine. Sustain is the build’s limiting factor, not damage, so it’s never the pick.

  • Aegisfall — a larger more-multiplier than Blades outright.

  • Towering Death — minion stun immunity. A stunned minion is 0 DPS and 0 sustain; I’m not trading that for a bigger crit number.

  • Invigorated Dead — roughly triples shuriken damage by passing the flat through, even if it doesn’t transfer the roar or the transplant buff. It’s the single biggest increase to the best AoE a Rogue has.

  • Cling to Life — massive all-res for you and minions; that’s gear slots, not a passive, and the efficiency of the Return on Investment (ROI) is insane.

  • Effigies — personal sustain again, if you don’t feel you need it plausibly a good pick but I would never make the trade.

  • Unbound Necromancy — the one honest trade: fewer bodies for more crit is better on bosses post-Individual-Operator-cap if you have the helm. I’d still rather have bodies and clear, and frankly more skellies = more fun.

  • Forbidden Teachings / Veins of Malice — the 3-point thresholds are enormous.

So no, I don’t think it’s right to move them, personally, despite the great return. There’s awesome return on investment everywhere. But if you value crit, stack it early and shift as you like — more crit damage is more sustain through River of Bones, and people like big numbers. I see nothing wrong with people tweaking it to what they like playing. It isn’t even what I’m playing.

vessel of strife is a nightmare was missing fromthe nitpicks. Like you aren’t doing Julra already…

Honestly I’d like you come clean and just say you have a problem with ppl telling you have some lack of knowledge because that’s what you’ve been doing to ANYONE who pointed that you were in the wrong.

And please stop this “mysterious thing” to try and get back some sense of superiority in the discussion I think you’ve already been disproven multiple times already
