New Player Experience - Picking a Mastery

Going through the game for the first time, but I’m an experienced ARPG player. For me, it was unclear why I was unable to unlock my mastery after achieving level 20. The only requirement I could see was to have level 20 in the base class. The requirement I was missing was progressing the main quest.

My suggestion: Update the tooltip when hovering over each mastery tab in the passive tree menu and the mastery class descriptions to include something along the lines of “Requires level 20 in (Base Class) AND complete the Main Quest (insert quest name)”

EDIT: One more suggestion. When zooming in on the map, can you center it on the mouse’s position? To clarify, when I go to a waypoint it opens the map slightly zoomed in on wherever I happen to be. I then have to drag the map around if I want to find a distant waypoint. If I zoom all the way out to find the waypoint I need I’d like to be able to hover over the area I want to travel to and use my scroll-wheel to zoom in on that spot.

AWESOME GAME!!! Keep doing exactly what you guys are doing (player choice/squashing bugs/rock-solid gameplay mechanics) and this is going to be a sleeper hit.

Good point. I think the devs also mentioned this during some patch feedbacks by the players that they will work on it to make it more clear.

Hopefully they’ll add some text on the base class passive tree that says how to unlock the masteries. Though it still requires people to read, which they (in my experience) rarely do.

I debated even posting this because I haven’t caught up on the developer blog and they probably already understand the issue, but I did a forum search and didn’t see any posts about this specifically.

No one will blame you if its the first time for you posting in this forum. Especially not when you give constructive feedback

There is one here with dev response.

I second this and encountered this as well. Was unclear why I couldn’t unlock Druid but the main quest progression was why, I just didn’t know it for a couple hours.
