My unique Item suggestion in case Tri-Element theme wins in the poll

I 've always loved hybrid mage playstyle and I’m sad that Staff didn’t win the poll last week, because that would 've been the perfect opportunity for such an item. I still don’t give up my hopes though and I 've come up with a unique effect for spear that uses that element, although I don’t know if spear is the most suitable weapon for an effect like this. I could 've probably waited until next week to see the poll result before I post this, but I’m eager to see your thoughts on this one and I’d like to know if it’s overtuned or undertuned before I post something like this in the unique effect thread which is coming next week.

So, here goes:

[Insert Unique Spear Name]: Sun Spear - Implicit: +45 Melee Physical Damage, +45 Melee Fire Damage, +(3-6) Melee Critical Chance

Unique Effect:

Firebrand stacks now also grant +3 Spell Fire, Cold and Lightning Damage per stack.
+(10-15) Adaptive Spell Damage with Elemental Nova.
You cast Elemental Nova every 2 seconds while Enchant Weapon is active.
+1 to Firebrand
+1 to Elemental Nova
+1 to Enchant Weapon

So, what do you guys think?

I just happened to see this post and wanted to quickly mention: While it can absolutely be a great idea to have posts to discuss certain ideas to provide them to the pool - when we review for community suggestions to include in following polls we’re only looking at replies to the main threads. Thanks for pointing this out. I was planning to post this in the relevant thread as well regardless. In any case, I only wanted to share my idea and see what people think of it.

I like it, I think that procs in general are a very fun mechanic.
So I am all in favor of proccing elemental nova. (personally I would have preferred a CoC setup).

However, when I think of a tri-elemental theme, I would more hope for a unique whose playstyle expects you to use all the three elements.
The iteration you propose does not really do that it is more of a general elemental themed buff but there is not strong incentive for having multiple elements at play.
Building this, I would probably select a single element to use as my main element, so that I can most efficiently shred resistances but build affixes for generic elemental damage so I can double-dip on the flat damage the spear provides.

Why not make the three novas have independent cooldowns when proccing? This way if you want maximum procs of them you need to spec into all three.

Well, the intend was actually to give you incentive to use all 3 elements with elemental nova and this is why I have the bonus spell damage be of all 3 types of elements. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t an added flat damage of a damage type more effective if you generally use that damage type? I mean, if you focus on Fire Nova for example then the flat Cold and Lightning damage granted goes wasted, isn’t that right?

Only as wasted as almost every character using a physical based weapon implicit when they dont scale physical, ie Crystal Sword base on a Spellblade

This weapon just looks like Jasper's Searing Pride - Unique Bladed Staff - Two-Handed Staff - Last Epoch Item Database statwise

Personally I would prefer something like:

“While under the effect of Magic Weapon Elemental Nova is cast every melee hit”
“Elemental Nova scales off Melee damage instead of Spell damage” this includes all weapons, passives, skills
“10-15% reduced attack speed”

Trigger weapons are a very cool archetype, it’s a shame only rogue has them at the moment.
