Good evening LE Crew! I’ve been experimenting on my rogue to get a bleed build going that does it’s damage instantly, instead of over time, using the Mutilate talent of the Puncture Tree. I am only level 36 but I’ve been testing it since I got the talent for about 10 levels now. The Puncture skill says it has a 30% chance to bleed on hit, which is fine, but when you put points in to perforate (increased bleed chance for Puncture), I assumed that when trying to consume the bleed stacks with Mutilate, it would always be 100% of the time. I am not sure if it is bugged or meant to be this way but even with my bleed chance for the skill over 100%, it still only procs about 30% of the time. I even grabbed the talents to add 5 stacks of bleed every third hit to see if it works properly. Once again, it works but not as I think it was intended. Being a melee, I want to stack the bleeds quick, pop them, and them keep going. I’ll try to provide some screenshots but it is quite difficult to land the shot on the frame of me hitting the training dummy with puncture. Thanks again for a great game and I hope to see this fixed in the future.
Mutilate as a node will only do it’s bleed stack consume every 3rd hit. It’s based off of the node before it, Cadence of Death. This third hit no longer applies bleed from the Puncture tree, which is why it might seem like applying bleed is not as consistent.
Are there any plans to change how this interaction works? I don’t see many people wanting to take it due to how it works. I would rather be limited by my own skill than a weird skill effect. I.e. perhaps change the node before it to the node at the end, and make the new end node have scaling bleed effects to then multiply the damage of the skill before it. If that was the case, I would also probably want the Mutilate node to proc on a single hit versus 3 hits. It just limits how one can apply the bleed/then remove it. Just my thoughts. Keep up the nice work.
Good that I came here before investing time into similar idea. If the interactions works as inteded I think Cadense of Death should be “Greater Puncture” or the wording in Mutilate should point to Cadense of Death.
