Mouse + Interacting with npcs = super awkward in this game

Most games like this, to interact with an NPC, you must stop whatever you might currently be doing with the mouse, such as moving, or attacking, and specifically click ON the npc to start the conversation with this.

In this game however, , the movement button has a shared functionality with the interact button, causing you to both move and interact while its being held down.

This is awkward. It can cause you to accidently interact with an npc just because you slightly moused over a tiny potion of that NPC while trying to walk around.

Its also bad when you are trying to talk to the npc, since you are in “movement mode” you will often KEEP moving once the NPC dialog pops up. Its just very clunky.

A more traditional option to interact with NPCs would be appreciated where you stop moving once the NPC dialog pops up. One that doesnt interact with the NPC just because you mouse over them while moving.

Yes, this is a known issue that is not the intended functionality.

This is not just an NPC issue, you’ll see it with zone transitions, stash/forge (if you have one open and are moving things around while standing near the other), and basically anything else you might accidentally position your mouse over.

Yup. And waypoints too. I think many of us have shared similar feedback over the years. Hopefully the devs might address this at some point in time.
