I’ve felt like my cursor is imprecise many times in the past, especially when moving items around (also happens in combat sometimes). My guess on why this happens is perhaps there’s a small delay on registering a mouse click or keypress. Alternatively, maybe the click or keypress is registered upon the release of the key, not on the press.
If it matters, I have kind of a potato laptop so my framerate is usually in the 10-15 range.
Although this is VERY imprecise, I can “replicate” this issue by:
- (Log in, select character, load into the game. Character in this case already has items in inventory but this should be optional.)
- Put the items next to each other.
- Move my cursor to near the edge of one item close to another item. Confirm by the tooltip that I’m still selecting the first item.
- Click the left mouse button.
- As quickly as possible after the click, move the mouse toward the other nearby item.
It will often pick up the other nearby item, and sometimes even an item 2 squares away. I know this is imprecise because it’s hard to guarantee that I clicked before moving the mouse, but it certainly feels like there’s a delay not in other programs or games.
