Mad Alchemist Ladle droprate is completely bugged at higher corruption

My theory: work in progress

I think i may propose a theory. We know that the game makes a distinction of items based on drops level. Drops that are lower level are restricted by area level. You can see my vod on youtube where i test lp. As i go to higher leveled maps, the pool of potential drops would increase.

Laddel is a low level drop. Which means you are punished for going higher as the game begins to prioritize what it sees as more valuable? Aka by going higher, you dilute the pool.

From my testing so far in offline with more then 700 unique drops from all tier brackets. I have not noticed that much difference in LP probabilties going from 1-2lp until i hit 400 corruption and almost no difference between 100C-240 or from none empowered to empowered for 0-1LP.

So it may seem counter intuitive, but go farm laddle in none monolith but from world boss drops with prophecies [exiled mage] and see if it backs up my theory. If it does it will support my current theory.

No, I believe that’s just RNG.

Well drop rates across the board were nerfed for 1.0.

Let me guess, they nerfed the drop rates to drive people to RMT sites? Or some nefarious modifier based on the number of supporter packs bought recently?

Yes, but the game rolls for rarity first, so it decides if the putative item is going to be a white/blue/yellow/gold/purple (if in a sufficiently high lvl’d area)/green, then if it chooses the unique rarity it rolls for a specific unique the rerolls for that unique.

I’ve been using Lakeside Trails. In three sessions totalling 725 runs, using one run at 500 corruption and two runs at roughly 200 corruption, I got a combined total of 274 Mages to spawn, roughly 34% of all the runs. My total Ladle drop rate was 7, which gave a drop rate from Mages of 1.4%.

At the moment, I have 3 Mad Ladles in my stash. One of which with 3 LP even. And, never ran anything over 300-ish corruption this cycle. And, I don’t go out of my way to kill literally every Mage I can. Honestly, I’d say the droprate feels just fine.

It’s actually BECAUSE you never went over 300 corruption that the drop rate feels fine, from everything that’s been shown about it the issue is that the drop rate goes down as corruption goes up.

And as people have demonstrated and as we’ve also come to learn from all EHG have said on droprates and higher tiers of corruption is that there is no reason whatsoever to assume there is any correlation whatsoever to higher corruption reducing the droprates of the ladle.

Furthermore… if it indeed were the case that it drops more at lower corruption then, well, the solution is both simple and straightforward – Farm for it at lower corruption. Would be faster anyhow.

One more two hour Ladle farming test run, this one done at 738 corruption with the echo distant from the middle, where the echoes would give 202 stability gained.

A total of 293 runs were completed, 107 Mages were spawned and 9 Ladles dropped. Seven LP 1’s and two LP 2’s.

The Mage spawn rate of roughly 36% of runs was comparable to the rate seen in my other three runs, two at roughly 200 corruption and one at 500 corruption.

On this 738 corruption session, the Ladle drop rate from mages was substantially better than in my other three sessions, with 9 Ladles dropping in 2 hours, or roughly one every 13 1/2 minutes. The Ladles per mage spawned rate was 8.3%, or roughly one Ladle for every 12 Mages and roughly one Ladle for every 33 runs

Doing this Ladle farming is pretty dull, repetitive stuff but if a drop rate of one Ladle every 15 minutes was repeatable (which I doubt that it is), I could see wasting a half hour or so doing it every now and then.

I am continuing my testing. The moment i turned on CoF tier 10, my drop rates of better 2-3, lp conversion almost doubled in comparison to what i had in my 6133 unique drops.

My Conspiracy Theory

◇ To get a 3LP item, you must hit X, lets say for example it is 100. I get a drop, it rolls a 45. I fail to get item. I will never get the item as my odds are 1/100. With tier 6, my odds are “DOUBLED” SO it would add another 45. Now instead of getting a item corresponding to 45, i get one of 90.

● As you increase corruption tiers [1-X] the game adds a number to the check.

Unempowered: +0
C100= 1. C1000=10

0LP: 0-75 + Item rank
1LP: 76-140
2LP: 141-180
3LP: 181-195
4LP: 196-200 or 100 Twice +Item Rank

This would explain why getting a 4lp item is almost impossible without cof. The odds would be in my guess 0.01% [1/100 ^2]

Lets say i was trying to get a 3LP Lvl 15. I would need to hit 181 + 15.

Now lets say i an trying to hit a lvl 44 2lp. I would need 141 + 44. Hence we see most LP items that drop are low lvl.

Now lets say i trying to get a lvl 88 item in 4lp. I would need 196+ 88. Aka impossible

Seems logical, wish we could see the actual formula from the EHG devs!

Here’s my little bit of data.

I did the port in and out of Lakeside Trails as described above on Corruption 116 in Reign of Dragons.

In 30 min I did 220 runs, I got 22 mages and 1 Ladle.
