Loot, is it really bad and boring?

ARPGs are all kinda based on RNG and not linear progression though… Like they’d kinda be shooting themselves in the foot with the fan base if they started removing RNG from things. Like the crafting is so easy and deterministic already I don’t see how people can’t get upgrades unless they just aren’t using the systems in place.

Literally this. Crafting is so overpowered that I expect a nerf but other than that I always find upgrades every session. The more endgame you reach the harder become to find good item. That’s normal

Not really saying to get rid of RNG, also not saying to have these systems as a core feature. RNG is and should be the core feature, but having some minor linear progression bonus can be a great incentivizer.
Also “ARPGs are all kinda based on RNG” isn’t really an argument, every game used to have it’s own identity and unique features, but that all changed in streamlined gaming - no risk industry era over the past 10 years. You must have noticed how much feedback on forums revolves around: " do the exact thing we have in PoE or D3", but I doubt that any serious game dev studio ever wanted their product to become a copy of existing game.

Anyways, was just an idea, not really a polished concept but something that perhaps devs can find interesting.

Pretty much the same as Path of Exile looting system but with a built in filter.

Thats how it feel for the average player, hard core player would feel a little more differences

the loot feels pretty damn good to me, just made it to lvl 40, having a blast with the shards and modifiers, I have to actually pay some attention to drops incase theres something juicy I want to take off with a shatter and use for a later craft. Maybe buy a better gaming chair?
