I don’t play PoE anymore, so I can’t answer that.
LE drop rates are amazing.
Let me try one more time, because people seem to be bad at math.
Option 1 - No trade: Item X takes 500 hours to get (RNG could be more or less)
Option 2 - Trade: Item X takes 1000 hours to get, but trade brings that back down to around 500 hours.
Option 2 is clearly worse, because Trade has now become mandatory to get Item X in the 500 hours the Devs wanted it to take.
Here’s another way to look at it.
Devs want ItemX to be 500 hours (rarity).
Players who want trade are literally saying “I want to circumvent that rarity and get it faster”.
If the Devs agreed with you, they would not implement Trading - they would reduce the drop rate of Item X to 250 hours - no new coding or game system required.
Stop trying to get “Item X” faster than the Drop Rates the Devs have decided it has. You can’t succeed. The Devs will just nerf the drop rate. This is ridiculously simple math.
I don’t know were you always come up with your numbers.
You have no clue what EHG had in mind when balancing drop rates.
And all these numbers you throw aroudn are porbably just some average nubmers of the 10 people you heard talking about it.
Most items that are required to make builds work (build-enabling) need significantly less than that.
Thsoe items that need that are the type of items that onyl dedicated palyers will ever get and that is ok.
I tried talking about these already in the other trading thread with you, but you didn’t even tried talking about them, neither if you like them nor if you were aware of them or whatever.
That was the time when I was talking about, “if we are on the same page”
Because I really think that there are a lot of systems in LE, great systems, that many peopel are simply not aware of or that might need some further fine tuning.
To refresh your mind here is the post I am refering to:
The opposite is also true.
There are people who will play because they enjoy the RNG loot hunt.
Is there some reason EHG should change their game to cater to you when other players like it as is?
As Heavy pointed out, I have had awful luck compared to him. Since my RNG has been awful, how do I speaking glowing of a loot hunt game where loot doesn’t drop for me?
Ya’ll need to understand that most of us have differing opinions and EHG will never make all of us happy. Even on both sides of the trade debate, there are various opinions of how it should or should not be. And those opinions on one side don’t necessarily agree with each other.
That a Community-made site does not tell you the most efficient strategy how to get your desired items?
Unbeliveable, that the devs expect their players to think about their approach of item acquisition and not tell you everything in advanced!
EDIT: You still have not answered my questions, yet you asked a second time to name some of the ways that are already in the game, to manipulate the chances of getting specific items.
(I think if you would actually engage in that part of the discussion, we could really improve the game together by giving our feedback about it, but you seem to simply ignore it)
Pfffft, real gamers know that the only way to play is playing the market!
That is one way of looking at it, yes.
I wouldn’t know what to do (& kids are expensive) but at least we’ll be mortgage free (assuming my current new job goes ok) when it comes out of the current fixed rate term.
As a final caveat, we are still in Pre-Alpha and as part of that, plans like these could very possibly change if we discover dire flaws or other issues with the system
How many have even read the overview of what was planned during the kickstarter?
Bidding on items. unable to cancel listings. Listing no more 5 items for sale at once.
In a way that doesn’t overshadow drops. Physically being in the bazaar as a trade NPC selling your items
