Last Epoch’s Season 4 and Beyond: Expansion, Paradox Classes, and Roadmap

Hello, do we have a fixed release date ? I can’t wait to slash again

Any type of paid content will dive this game to the depth, dont do it, game have great potential, stick to MTX / Battlepass.

The one that hasn’t been profitable thus far?

Destiny 2 learned, paywall items = death. If you can’t make it work without it, you’re not doing it right

With 4084 current players (as I checked now) I think they’ve done a good job of driving players away already sadly. If they listened or did big emails like they did in 2024 asking about balance changes and had questions and asked every registered address man the info they get back could make the game amazing instead of their current “lets just what seems cool to us” stance, hah

It’s a very poor decision to release anything that changes the gameplay loop as a paid DLC.

By their very own description, "A fully alternate playable class built on systems that work differently from anything else in the game. " This is cool and all, but, why is this locked behind a pay wall? Why not release in a beta test build if you are just wanting to test out new systems? I fear this is a bad omen for the direction of the game and the player base is going to be the ones to suffer from this one.

People can’t buy what doesn’t exist after all.

If you don’t offer things to buy… you don’t get money.
Quite simple concept.

Ther MTX handling was and still is absolutely laughable.

Are you saying an MTX business model without any MTX is doomed to fail?

One thinks at least ONE person at EHG should have been able to figure that one out.
With the current player base, new shiny MTX won’t do much even if they are absolute bangers.

Launching with a barren store like they did was a catastrophic fumble.

I don’t know, I think the quality of the MTX itself was the issues once they were launched, not that they did not go for quantity of MTX release as soon as possible.

From all the big ARPG’s at the time (before Diablo IV) LE was the only one with a box price AND (future) MTX (they did not yet have them at that time).

And their main reason for delaying MTX and not putting them into the game was that they did not feel it was fair to put in MTX already, when (at that point) not even all uniques had unique 3d models. (also remember they were still early access at that point as well)

Which I think was a very noble and good reasoning and a lot of people agreed with it at the time.

I would argue that if they would have put in MTX too early, the backlash from the community would have been substantial, simply because at that time it would have been unprecedented (in that genre at least).

I still think that LE has some of the weakest MTX across multiple genres. While there are some individual cool ones, the overall quality is very lackluster.

Which makes it all the more baffling why they still show absolutely zero actions to remedy it.
Over 2 years to start solving it… I’m not sure if by now even starting could bring the income back, because with the self-immolation of consoles currently happening at large scale the expansion into console space is substantially worse then it was at the reveal… and even then it wasn’t a guaranteed safety even for the short-term.

Both… it’s actually both.
Which makes it a bigger issue.

Too little visual impact and too few.
All the ‘cheap’ options to duplicate pre-existing models haven’t been used. No color palettes, no reskins, and it’s all just ‘not enough’ throughout the bank by now.

And ‘not putting them in’ doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be prepared already to be flushed out into the market as soon as they think the customer-base has gotten enough. You don’t start work when that time arrives, you are already done with work at that moment.

What’s the point of the old classes if the new ones are better. And they HAVE to be better because otherwise, we bother selling them?

No, they don’t have to. As long as they’re different enough from the others, that’s enough of a selling point. Just as it’s enough of a selling point for cars, washing machines, smartphones, vacuum cleaners, monitors, PCs, games consoles, controllers, keyboards and so on. You don’t buy Milka chocolate anymore these days. You buy the cheaper own-brand chocolate, which contains different ingredients.
