Can’t log in or play offline, are these patches even tested?
They are tested, EHG just doesn’t have the capacity to test the new patch on every possible computer in existence.
I understand you were using a 2019 version of Unity and have moved to a 2025 one?
I’m not sure, I didn’t check carefully, but something like that can’t be done without expecting consequences.
You’re going to have problems, expect a lot of bug reports. Also, if you’ve been using that version since you started the game project, you should be used to it by now, although the latest version of Unity offers many features.
Note: there’s a saying in programming, “If something works, DON’T TOUCH IT.”
By the way, the game’s minimum requirements have surely changed now, and it also won’t run on Windows 7. This means that anyone who purchased the game before this update can claim a full refund from Steam because it no longer works.
You have three options:
1- the difficult one… be proud and insist on using this version of Unity 6 and accept many complaints, bugs, and even refunds from those who owned the game before the update.
2- go back to the version you were using and continue playing the game.
3- work on a Last Epoch 2, where you can use the engine and version you want from the start.
I was in right after the patch but when I just got back home and was able to get back to my PC I had the same error. I closed, verified my file integrity with Steam, and am back in.
Leveling a new toon, cant get into The Risen Lake in act 4. Every time I try entering it from The Soul Wardens Road I get disconnected.
stop trolling man, 4k gaming 240 fps? nice joke
They had already moved off the 2019 version for some time now (edit: in January, ref: here).
Unity 6 was released in 2024.
I am having the same issue, d/c trying to take the portal to Risen Lake
Have you guys tried verifying you files with Steam? It would at least help them know whether or not this is a fix for that issue too.
They just need better computer. I’m playing at 8K 480fps right now.
Crashing trying to load into echos after this patch. Game engine is complaining about trying to access invalid memory addresses. =/
Try to verify your game files with Steam and see if that helps.
Risen lake is hosed. Game files verified.
I am playing cinder strike rogue. Other maps work but bow attack animations are kinda wonky. They seem to originate behind me or just don’t show the arrows at all sometimes.
Loading screen has rogue in her undies for a minute.
Can not progress a char past risen lake.
Tried that first, no dice. Seems to be related to a regression bug with UnityPlayer.dll and texture issues loading in/out of memory from what I can tell.
Same thing, this damn lake stop my first walkthrough.
having the same issue since the patch
Can’t play at all. Steam opens, game doesn’t start.
In Steam, files have been verified. I’ve tried both playing online and offline.
When it tries either, it looks like Steam is starting it, but then it quickly goes back to “Play” and nothing happens.
I’m guessing this is an issue with Unity 6 and my system being Windows 7.
I’ve been playing the last few weeks without issues. Then today, I can’t play at all.
I’ve had the game since it was in development and I’d like to continue to play.
Please revert the Unity 6 update, if possible.
Try rebooting your broadband router if you get constant DCs.
It might solve the problem perhaps.
Unity 6 drops support for Windows 7 users, so when they re-release the patch, you’ll likely be unable to play.
If you turn off downloading upgrades now and only play full offline, i suspect you will be able to continue playing until you can upgrade to Win 10 or later.
