Last Epoch Patch 1.2.3 Notes

The stash search changes are nice, but it might be hard to remember all the expressions. Do you think you could add some kind of autocomplete or menu to select tags through the UI? Or at least add a [?] button in the stash that opens up a reference.

the imprint change makes absolutely no sense. It was genuinely the best mechanic added to the game this season. It wasnt even that op. I have 3 level 100 characters and i got like 5 Red Rings from it in total. Now it will be 1 Red Ring in 10 lvl 100 characters. It should not have been called “a bug” when it was so freaking good it felt like it was intentional because of how good your guys’ decisions always are. Please rethink this one and thank you in advance. Great changes overall, but this one puts a big dark shadow over other ones.

An interesting solution, but it also requires a number of settings for displaying/highlighting objects, similar to those on the market.
Thanks!

  • Fixed an issue where players could use Warpath without moving when using WASD.

Damn, and i thought that was a feature, and liked that during leveling, especially on bosses.

I just had an imprinted red ring proc three times. All three times I get random unique rings instead. RIP unique target farming. It was one of the best additions to the game this patch and they just nuked it.

It is these regular, small feature & bug fix patches that are most encouraging to me. Excited to see how the game shapes up throughout the season.

Chiming in to say, revert the imprint nerf please. It was one of those things that made everyone say “EHG gets games where everyone else doesn’t.” Now you’re just fitting in with the crowd of developers that seem like they don’t even play their games.

The background image on this page made me think my monitor was dirty.

These are awesome, especially the first 2.

Thank you for the expanded capability in the Stash search function. Using expressions, regex, and macros are great, but it would be better if most of these were selectable.

Any chance we’re going to start seeing these restart notices here on the official forum before they happen? Relying on Discord for these notices is doing nothing for those many users who look to the Forum and don’t use Discord.

I’d say it’s too soon to say if this actually affects red ring imprint odds. Before the update the imprints proced a lot but when they (usually) failed they only produced rare/exalted rings. If you weren’t paying attention you likely wouldn’t even notice because they would be hidden by your filter. So it’s entirely possible this new other uniques outcome takes up part of the inaccurate imprint outcome rather than reducing the red ring chance.

This is a much needed improvement and it’s great to see that you are working in this.
It’s so much better now than before. Thanks.

However, I immediately have to complain: Unless I missed something the current implementation does not support to combine “macros” and regex or even just plaintext search.
Is there really no macro for the item type?

Please improve this further and also allow simple expressions of different terms like “Relic&T7” or /relic/&/[\d+] mana/.

Ok, so now to be able to search the stash I need to learn how to write macros? Hmmm… I hope it is only a bandaid for a while giving tine to make a proper UI implementation with checkboxes and the like :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

You fixed Flame Rush Focus! Thanks so much!

Please revert the imprint change…bug or not, fixing it mid season just ruins the experience for those who didn’t exploit it early. You shouldn’t have some people with 20 red rings and some with 0 just based on whether they imprinted and farmed it week 1-2 vs week 3. That makes no sense.

I finally found my first red ring yesterday, imprinted it, and went to bed. Woke up this morning knowing I’ll never see another one and about to just quit the season as there’s no point in trying to find a second one now.

Kudos EHG.
Regex search us massive! I hope you guys are expanding on the system as it goes forward, making it more sophisticated.

Those are the things the game needs. Big massive plus in my book.

Bugs should be fixed, period.

This is exactly why EHG’s position on “nerf bugs mid-season” is such a dumb one. If it was nerfed day one or two then maybe it would be understandable. Right now there are a ton of youtube guides talking about how this is the strategy. It’s very very well utilized and hardly anyone thought it was a bug and subject to a mid-league nerf.

Mid-league nerfs to things people don’t even know are bugged (was it? sure seems like they just wanted an excuse to nerf it) makes players quit. Players quitting hurts the health of this game.

First of all… the decision itself is not a dumb one. The point that EHG is too slow is the issue there.

Secondly, fixing bugs is a primary factor to create a properly balanced environment. Creating 300 red rings is not balanced, it’s not supposed to happen, it’s providing an item in masses which shouldn’t be provided.

Thirdly, it has secondary effects. We could argue that it’s not an issue in a single-player game or CoF, but… MG exists, and there is a market. Creating those items which are supposed to be between 200-500 million gold in value without LP in such an amount means that item becomes worthless. That causes issues. So it needs to be fixed.

Fourth, if it’s a build-related bug it causes perception issues, hence people saying ‘only this build is viable’ ‘all builds but xyz suck!’ ‘this game is unbalanced’ ‘you have to play xyz to have fun’. And that’s not supposed to happen. Also it causes problems for the developers to see issues how in relation other builds behave since they’re hence extremely under-represented, not allowing to do respective balancing to bring them into a better state, slowing down game-development substantially. Hence leaning to a game which is for a longer time not as fun as it otherwise could be.

Everyone able to read and comprehend should realize that this behavior wasn’t intended. It specifically states ‘it can produce this item’ and ‘it’s related to rarity of the item’.

Nice i farmed so so many red rings time to sell em all n make billions of gold and be done with this season

Glitch or not, it became a desired feature. Here’s 20 more examples. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1rQY_7gPQM
