Wife and I are leaving PoE2 tomorrow to start the new LE league and we are EXCITED. We haven’t been following all the news last few days while we blast PoE2 for the last time so just checking in to make sure I understand the important stuff and can be ready at launch.
It’s my understanding that the patch notes are out, yes?
We just tonight (4/16) installed LE so did we get the patch or is that happening on launch day tomorrow?
I read something about 24 hour server downtime, which appears to have started today, so it’s my understanding that tomorrow (4-17) at 11:00am CDT, we can actually log in and start playing, is that correct? Or do we have to patch first and then log in?
Thanks, we are pumped for this new adventure. Thanks all!
As far as I’m concerned, and according to steamdb, there was no downloadable patch yet.
EHG has always worked with the 24h downtime format for big updates. If everything goes well, you should expect the patch to be available before maintenance is over, so you can download it before the servers go live.
If you guys are anything like me or the other 100’s of people Ive seen coming in recent weeks you’re going to love the change of play, the style, the QoL stuff and just how intuative it is vs “the other game” - hope you guys have a blast! I’m in Aus so I’ll see you round 2am
@Wanderlust1 the patch notes also has the start time in your local timezone at the top.
No, there isn’t a patch to download yet, this’ll be available at 5pm BST when 1.2 launches.
The downtime started yesterday at ~5pm BST so there’s 6.5 hrs to go.
For added info. There is never a pre-patch before the servers go live, otherwise people could play the new season in full offline mode. So to keep everything fair, once servers go online, then everyone regardless of mode they play will get the download at the same time.
Lots of great info here, many thanks guys. Holy crap, that’s more patch notes than I’ve ever seen in ANY game lol. They really did work this over. I saw a stream with wudijo and the Maxroll guys and it sounds like a significant team of streamers has been testing this thing for months, which is heartening to hear.
With everyone coming in at once, I hope EHG is prepared for server overload and the game is playable out the gate. Coming from that “other game”, I don’t have to tell you how disappointing some launch days can be! It’s good to know they’ve been putting it through the paces with some real blasters.
One of the things I immediately notice here in the forums is the community is awesome. For me, that really helps make a game complete.
