I hope you're pleased scamming people

It depends on how they implement the offline client. If you’re oflfine you don’t need the MTX models in the client because you won’t ever see anyone else using MTX. So they could cut it entirely from it.

But I’m not personally against MTX being available offline. The way I see it is that it will be hacked no matter what. If they allow cosmetics while offline, at least some people will buy them. I don’t have any data to back this up, but I feel like you’d get more people buying cosmetics and playing offline than you would get “offline players” moving to online to be able to use them.

Though it’s not as easy as that. After all, while most people would be happy to have their cosmetics offline and not care about anything else, some players might feel “cheated” for having to pay for them when someone can get them without even paying for them.
Then again, the same could be said about the game itself.

So it’s not a clear cut situation where you can say that path A is better than path B and EHG have to consider all the different situations and decide what they feel is best for them and their game.

So in order to save a bit of “lost” revenue from hacked offline cosmetics, they’d spend more money, and resources, on maintaining a completely different version of the client? That makes tons of sense. Let’s spend 1000s to avoid losing a couple 100s. Which, I’d debate is even lost since someone who is going to hack, probably isn’t going to buy legit anyhow. So they just end up spending 1000s to thwart some hackers in the offline client.

I’m not speaking for the devs. I don’t know what they are doing or why. I’m just saying possibilities as a general programmer of things that might be done.

Ultimately, like I said, EHG have to weight the pros and cons of all the options and decide for themselves which is better for them.

That’s not what the people who were asking for it said, so…

Honestly if you look at the grand spectrum of gaming you should be happy that offline play is even supported when all the popular ARPGs are online only…

Honestly, if you look at the grand spectrum of consumerism, no one should ever ‘just be happy’ when their hard-earned money is involved.

it’s especially silly because if you pirate the game you’re OBVIOUSLY offline but have access to the cosmetics tab etc, which you can’t even click on on the actual game when it’s set to offline mode… pretty weird if you ask me.
