Super nitpicky but its annoying!
As far as I’m aware, it opens to the last state you left it in. So if you’re looking at prophecies it opens in prophecies, if you’re looking at CoF/MG ranks, that’s where it opens, etc.
Not sure if it persists between sessions, though.
This is not the case, no matter where I left it, it always opens back to Forgotten Knights. Maybe because I havent been able to kill Aberroth yet, but thats like the final boss of the game.
I just logged in to test it and it works like I said. I switched to CoF rank and it stayed there when I next opened it. Then I switched to prophecies and loaded to another zone and it stayed in prophecies.
If it’s not happening to you, maybe try having steam validate files?
Do you still have the Aberroth quest active?
Yes, I only have 3 Harbingers killed.
It resets to Forgotten Knights every time you log with a character iirc.
Yes, I don’t think it remember the state between sessions. But it does remember while you don’t switch characters or leave the game.
Yep, if you drill all the way into Prophecies it will stay there for that session, but dropping to char select or closing the game will make it open Knights again. At least hitting Prophecies makes it persist for the session but it is still dumb that it defaults to Forgotten instead of at least the list of factions. I dont think I’ve ever opened it and thought “Oh nice its already here” lol
I assume that’s the default because it was the last one added (or the last one joined?).
I agree that it should remember the last state, but that would involve storing it permanently, so it’s one more tidbit to affect performance (even if it’s small, they all add up, so you cut up where you can).
Which means that it would make sense to simply default to the factions screen instead.
yep, tbh its just reducing clicks to “Visit Observatory”
Though if an extra variable stored for your character and one check when opening a menu causes a noticeable impact to performance then there are bigger problems at hand
It’s not just the extra click. It would just make more sense to be in the “homepage” of factions, rather than a specific one by default.
No, I don’t expect keeping that extra variable would have a big impact on performance. But all the extra variables add up eventually, so for stuff that isn’t too important, you don’t keep it stored permanently, just in the session.
Not that I can think of many that fall in this case, so there’s no real reason not to keep this, but it’s still a valid overall design decision.
It opens to the Forgotten Knights faction every time you log in to play, after that it opens to the last one you were in. This has been brought up before (Forgotten knights) so the devs are aware of the issue we have with it.
Every time you log in it should open up to the “home page” of the factions to present you the option of which one you want to view.
EDIT: BTW, this is only the first one I found on the issue. It was discussed in some of the patch note responses as well.
interesting all ways goes to forgotten knights for me too. seems too many clicks
Interesting development, on new characters it takes you to your chosen faction until empowered monos are unlocked, then it goes to the Forgotten Knights behavior.
