Nice one. Maybe will try that at some point soon.
Target entering Empowered:
Max Crit Avoid/Resistances
Cleanse on belt (ideally T1/2 sealed)
Hybrid Health on Belt/Boot/Glove
% Inc Health on Helm/Belt/Body Arm (ideally landing around the 2k HP mark)
And then a few other types of defense depending upon class
As you mentioned - damage comes fairly easy this game. Rewarded for putting your priorities into defenses. Good Luck!
False. eHP isn’t determined by your HP.
Some builds stack endurance threshold, endurance, and glancing blows so that they always receive 95% less damage (60% endurance + 35% less dmg from glancing blows).
Are rogues capable of getting their endurance threshold above their health value while also getting 100% glancing chance? That sounds wild. And 60% endurance with 35% glancing blows comes out to 74% damage reduction (which is still good since it doesn’t even factor in the 43% from resistances or the armor values).
I did take the most direct route but I don’t think most would call that a speedrun. I didn’t take any campaign skips or skip any side quests and skipping the left side of the monos is a common path to take. That doesn’t skip half the monos it’s only 1/3 of the monos and I believe the left side doesn’t give blessings that add character power like the right side does which is why it can easily be skipped otw to empowered. Maybe I’m wrong but those were my impressions.
So I moved a few passives around to get added endurance threshold and AC (up to 60% endurance and 700 endurance threshold). Found/crafted some new items to get my health up to 1850. Found a unique Arrowguard quiver which puts my glancing blow up to 86% and added a few more passive points into thiefguard which is giving me 20 health per glancing blow. Feeling much better now in empowered (also gained a couple more levels so now I’m 82). Still a bit squishy in certain situations but much more stable now.
Well, a lot of info were already given. But, just a reminder for your falconer buddy:
- Around 30% dodge you will be fine (not always, though)
- Glancing Blows helps a lot
- Passive trees give some defensive resources that will help on survivability (guaranteed dodge, haste, ward and stuff)
- DAMAGE TO KILL BEFORE GET KILLED. Dexterity, stack it a lot.
- Movement. Light steps are the best.
- Watch out for the echo’s modifiers, some can just brick your jazz.
Good luck!
I beeline straight to empowered and usually get there around 76-78 every single time
I’m playing a sorcerer and I’m 86 and still getting kinda beat up in normal level 85-90 monos. Working on my gear & build before even attempting empowered. You guys must be pretty good players.
Ive played this game for 2k hours over 4 years
When I started this league I started as Warlock and found them pretty strong, I went Merchant Guild and was able to get Last Steps and Exsang/Frost Shackles by level 80 and had about 3.5k Ward and just went up from there
I made a Healing Hands Paladin with multiple Legendaries waiting and felt no difference going into empowered
I wouldn’t say I’m a good player. Maybe average. I did purchase this game in EA back in early 2020 so I have a bit of experience with it but that being said it’s only about 500 hours and it was never beyond the regular monos. I would just try the game out from time to time and hit monos and then put it down for a while again. I guess that’s why I had a bit of trouble this time transitioning to empowered because I had not done it before.
I don’t think regular monos are particularly difficult in most cases so if you are having issues at 86 in regular monos I would suggest taking a close look at your build/gear to see what might be wrong. Is it survivability? Is it sustaining resources? Is it damage output? Maybe a lack of synergy between skills/passives/gear? etc…
I love that the systems in this game are such that I felt comfortable making my own build without a guide. I think it’s working pretty well despite a bit of survivability issues. That said I think you can definitely still mess things up. Thankfully, it’s relatively easy to make changes and fix any mistakes you might have made.
I’m working on all of the above, experimenting with different skills, passives, skill points. Gear can definitely use some upgrades. But I’m in no big rush. I’m currently working on getting the blessings I want - the all resist one and the fire/lightning shreds.
