Hidden Gems and Desert Treasure Both Uncompletable

I cannot finish either quest, both are stuck on the final stage.

This is extremely frustrating as new player and makes me want to quit the game.

I am stuck at: Defend Yourself From Imperial Assasians, and Speak with the Fence, respectively.
