I think this could work out, without being broken. It has to be very very rare though.
Depending on what the devs still have in mind for crafting this could be a endgame crafting option. It needs to be really carefully balanced in regards to droprate/acquisition.
When i remember correctly devs said they want to add more varied runes/glyphs, so there also potential room for even more different stuff.
We get guaranteed results already, every time we roll at 100%. As for the “roll” (or range within that tier) that would remain a variable of course. The glyph would probably have to be very scarce. It would be your choice to use that glyph at 1% chance of damage or risk going deeper. But once you used it, you would not be able to upgrade further.
What about this: Make it an end game reward. 1 per character. Then decide if it can be transferred or not. I’d say let us share it.
If by hijack, you mean come along & disagree &/or give my own opinion, then it depends when you post compared to whether I’m awake or not (posting at ~11pm UK time would give you the most Llama-free time, just saying). My opinion carries just as much weight as yours, it just may not agree to yours…
I think it would be very niche, you’d get your crafted item up through the fracture chances until you get to a reasonable chance for damage (where it’s too spicy for the user’s taste but there’s only one or two tiers/affixes to go before it’s maxed out) then use this to guarantee being able to get one last tier (whether or not that’s your actual last tier).
I’m not sure they actually would add it, but sure, why not?
Though there would also be some people who don’t read the tooltip for what it does & then complain.
Well i think if you have a Item with like 2-3 T5 affixes alredy crafted via stability/guardian you could give your item the last pefect touch that is guaranteed to not make a damaging fracture.
I wouldn’t say it is “niche”, you will just not use this very often, since bringing an item to this already good state is already very hard. But if you manage to make such a good item and give it this little bit of extra at the end would make alot of sense.
I am an advocate of rng/chance based stuff for this kind of stuff and i did disagree on alot of crafting posts and other threads that wanted to give guaranteed success to certain stuff.
But i really like this idea. Having guaranteed things with a guaranteed drawback is a really good idea.
If they would bring this thing into the game and make it really really rare/valueable it makes alot of sense.
denoting or relating to products, services, or interests that appeal to a small, specialized section of the population.
I’m not sure how rare they would need to make it since it’s “downside” (fracturing the item) means it will only be used at the end of the crafting process when you’ve got a decent chance for an item to be damaged on the next craft.
If they dropped as much as the other glyphs, would you use them as much? Of course not!
I think this has a very nic(h)e appeal to it. I like the idea quite a bit because its a give/takeaway one use item that detracts very little from the overall RNG.
As to how to distribute it, since it’s a one time use item, it could be tied to quests or bounties or anything else they may implement in the game (since there is still so much to come) rather than just as a random drop. So you get to that last stage of crafting and you think, “I’ve got 5/4/3/4. I’d really love that last 4 to be a five but my damaging fracture is at 35%. I’m going to go get me a Glyph of Finality.”
Well i rather meant, that even the most casual player can efficiently use it, even though it will not happen often.
Niche for me (at least in video games) is when something is not done/used by alot of player due to unpopularity or not being “meta”, stuff like that.
I still think it should be fairly rare, because otherwise the excitement of making an item “one step better” with a guaranteed chance will be meaningless.
Which is why IMO it’s a good idea, since even the most casual player could use it.
Also a reasonable use of the term.
I’m not sure. As you craft up your items, you’ll be getting toward the choice of do I
Trust in RNGesus to keep my item safe & to be able to craft again

(because there’s not enough Mr Bean)
2) Stop crafting now but gather some Dutch courage to give it a go later
3) Use the new glyph to upgrade it one last time but no more.
Make it rare or not, i would say that we do agree that it would not “hurt” the game at the current state.
I personally like having some potentially(or in this case even guaranteed) powerfull crafting options, but having to think about it twice, or maybe even thrice about on what items i actually wanna use them.
If their droprate would be similar to some of the other current runes, they would kinda become a essential part of the crafting process, even in low/mid tier game. I would be fine with that too, but i do prefer the version were it’s rare.
Either way i think it’s a sensible addition to the game.
Ah and by the way, i think that was the first time ever, since i am wandering the countless forums of the internet, that somebody replied to me with 2 Gif’s in one post
Well for dealing with gods there should be some godlike rewards. I don’t think this idea fits the bill. I’d rather like to see a scroll that removes the chance to fracture at all and not adding instability while autmoaticly rolling the highest possible roll, dropped if you kill a god or the last zone endbosses for example. Something that offers and “oomph” to show the godlike feat you pulled of.
