If you buy something from the gambler, you can sell item(s) from your inventory while the rarity is being rolled, and said item(s) will appear back in your inventory after the rarity roll is complete (along with the item gambled). Then you can buy the original item(s) back via the Buyback feature.
This is a VISUAL bug only. If you leave the game and rejoin, only one copy of the item is left in your inventory.
