Extremely low Forging Potential on Exalts?

If they’re dropping as low as 7 that’s a bug. The absolute minimum for exalted items is supposed to be 24, and that’s unusual and not possible beyond a certain level.

If you’re talking about items that dropped before the patch, they were given an amount of forging potential based on their instability. If their instability was moderate to high they were probably given low forging potential because of that. In general new items drop with more forging potential than old items were given.

I’ve picked up Exalted items with like 17FP post patch though. So if there’s a hard minimum it might need looking into. I just thought I was really unlucky

I didn’t think it was an anomaly at the time so didn’t register details about it. But I’ll stay on the look out for instances if I encounter them again

interesting. i’m seeing low FP on rares and i thought exalted. now i’m wondering if those exalted were actually the ones in my stash and not the drops.

i guess i’ll have to keep a careful eye on them and make sure this isn’t just an RNG thing.

here’s a woeful wand and catalyst I just got as a monolith reward that gives exalted wands. Low forging potentials. below the 24 minimum exalted forging potential you claim.

i “partially” retract my statement about low FP on rares and exalted.
i’m fairly certain that i was mixing up drops with what was already in my stash.
i’m finding fairly high FPs on exalts and even some rares.

i’m going to keep an eye out also, because FPs above 24 don’t appear to be that common for me, at least not on rares.

i’ve noticed though that they seem to be going up with my character level. I was finding fairly low FPs on rares and now i’m seeing some values as high as 30+.

Is FP weighted by character level as well as area ? or am i getting an RNG quirk ?

Rare items started with more instability than magic items, so the gap between their mod count and total tiers could be closed more easily.

• We’re flipping that around with the new crafting system so that rare items start with more forging potential than magic items, and rare items at high levels drop with even more. This means that not only will that gap be harder to close for magic items, but when crafting on rare items you’ll have more freedom to use items like the Glyph of Order without worrying as much about running out of forging potential.

ok. thanks for that. however that’s precisely what i was wondering about, what defines “high levels” ? is a level 80 character in a level 66 mono going to find rare items with a higher FP than a level 70 character in the same mono ?

i ask specifically because my character seems to be getting drops with higher FPs while in the same mono area (black sun) as it leveled. As i said may have been a quirk of RNG.

I believe its based off of the level of the area, however I’m not certain about that.

In 9 echos, also dropped 2 exalted > 24FP - 28 & 31 FP

Can confirm this is not the case… Getting quite a few that dont conform this is… Just had a level 45 exalted helm with two affixes drop with 14 fp in a Ruined era Mono map… on the same map I got 3 affix relic exalted lvl 42 with 29fp…

it seems to be generally above 20ish for exalted… (highest fp i have is 44 on a 4 affix rare dropped as a T12) but every few drops there will be an exalted that is below 20 fp…

EDIT: Another example that this is not as you say: Just got an exalted reward from empower mono run… 5 drops… 3 exalts with 4 affixes, 31, 33, 37 fp… 2 exalts with less than 4 affixes, 12fp & 19fp… From what I can tell, it looks like exalts with 4 affixes tend to drop over 24fp but any exalt with less than 4, seems to get relatively low fp by comparison…

I found a few dozen purples with sub 25 FP. Just brought one example. I think my record was FP 12.
