Eterra Monthly: March. 2025 Edition

Starting off with some important news, as you all may be well aware, Season 2 Tombs of the Erased has been delayed from its original April 2nd launch date. The newly scheduled release date is April 17th. EHG Game Director, Judd, revealed the change with the following graphic.

EHG would like to thank you all for your un-ceasing support and look forward to an outstanding 2nd Season along side you.

With this announcement, the team has also decided to reveal the date of the Patch Notes!

Mike’s Teasers

March was a very different world for Last Epoch streams and with it, the teasers you have all come to expect from Mike every week. The first two weeks of March’s streams were designed as Interview Podcasts with some of your favorite streamers such as, Zizaran, Raxxanterax, and Ghazzy. These podcast streams will be kicking off again before the launch of Tombs of the Erased on April 8th and April 11th.

3-7-25

Mike was not actually present for the Podcast stream with Ziz and Raxx. Instead, the streamers were joined by the Founder of EHG and Game Director Judd, Creative Director Ross, and Principle Designer Holly.

3-14-25

The following week, Mike and Karv joined Ghazzy on his stream and gave an absolutely massive amount of spoilers sending the twitch moderators into a panic.

3-21-25

Returning to normal streams, Mike was not about to ease up on his famous teasers, bringing with him 5 glimpses into the future. The last of which was the new “Death Vacuum” that brings nearby loot out of an Echo should your character die before completion.

3-28-25

Mike wrapped up the end of the month with 5 more teasers to keep us thinking all week.

Build Spotlight

This month’s Community Build Spotlight goes to Demoner with their incredible “Finger of God - Healing Hands” build.

“Have you ever wanted to heal your enemies to death? Well you’re in luck, the Finger of God build does just that.” This one is for anyone interested in powerful 1-button, kickback and relax, builds and can be started as soon as you unlock Healing Hands and Paladin! And the best part is, there are NO item requirements to make it work. Though the build guide does feature a few popular items such as Orian’s Sun Seal, Soul Bastion, and Firestarter Torch, or alternatively Mad Alchemists Ladle, none of these are required; putting creative freedom back into your hands. The Finger of God build makes you and your allies practically unkillable and has proven to be viable in both SCF and HC formats. Not just like any build, there are some drawbacks. The AOE does exist but it’s a bit smaller than most AOE builds are familiar with. You’ll also need to manage your mana a bit closer to make sure you don’t get stuck.

For more information, please check out Demoner’s Build Guide on Last Epoch Tools and give it a try. With the upcoming Sentinel overhaul, this is sure to be a favorite build very soon.

Meet the Team

Travelers, we know how much you have all enjoyed meeting the EHG team. As you can imagine, Season 2 Tombs of the Erased, has the entire studio hyper-focused on bringing you our best. Because of this, instead of focusing on one individual this month, we would instead like to invite you all to meet some of our team members during the upcoming Podcast streams on Twitch.

Discord Fun

This past month, the Community Management team got together and started a new stream just for you! Every Wednesday at 11:30 am CST, the Last Epoch Official Discord will host a voice channel called “CM Cozy Streams.” These streams are an opportunity for everyone to hang out together, enjoy the game, and create a healthy dose of chaos at the expense of the CM team’s characters. As of the time of this blog posting, Averielle, Wick, and Kain have all been featured with community driven character builds. Ave has stepped out of her comfort zone and is being guided through a Forge Guard build, Wick has fallen victim to the chaos of the chat and plays a Warlock, and Kain seems to be rolling with the punches with a Rune Master.

On behalf of the CM Team, we want to encourage everyone to join us for the next stream. Help guide them to victory, or hilarious chaotic tragedy.

March was chalk full of new fan art and excitement and the team was absolutely gushing over it all.

Vezidroga on Discord has been working tirelessly on a brand new Last Epoch LED sign in their woodshop. As of 3/18 the project was announced as completed! You can check out the final product on Reddit where they have also included a short video on the entire process. Shortly before the project was posted, Vezidroga reached out to Mike, host of the LE Official Twitch Channel, to offer the project a permanent home. Mike has since accepted and soon it will be seen in the background of all of the LE Twitch streams.

As it turns out, WilliamGoatCreates on Reddit is a master jeweler. After spotting a reddit post calling out the Carcinization of Momentum ring, they posted a photo of the exact same ring they made from gold and set with a gorgeous white pearl!

Another Discord user by the name Lungbutter (we hope they are breathing smoothly) showed off their Last Epoch support with an amazing Epoch tattoo. Give your artist a shout out from everyone at the studio. This is some nice color work.

What’s Next?

We’d like to ask you all to keep your eyes on our forums for the patch notes you’ve all been chomping at the bit for. We know the wait has been long and frustrating but we thank you for your patience through it all. Your unyielding support has not gone unnoticed.

This has been Eterra Monthly; a report on the happenings and changes in the world of Last Epoch. We hope you have enjoyed this month’s report and will see you all again soon.

Whens the patch that makes time go faster?

So excited for this season. Can you please tell my boss I won’t be able to make it into work on the 17th?

I hope some day devs also invite Dr3ad and FrozenSentinel to talk about the state of the game. Just my 2 cents :smirk:

Love these monthly recaps!

It would be really nice to get the teasers and reveals right away on the website rather then at the end of the month in a summary.

I don’t feel like retrospective drops of information to the community is what Eterra monthly should be about, rather what’s going on in terms of actual plans, things that happened and interesting tidbits.
A summary is obviously fine too… but using it as the primary way to drop those things on the website? Feels lackluster and not nice if people don’t follow those external ways to gather information.

Thank you very much for this post. I have been playing a bit of Grim Dawn lately (been a long time) and although I have fond memories and it is a really good game, I think LE has a LOT to be happy about. I just wish that we, the community (players and supporters) didn’t have to either wait for second-hand information about news or be “expected” to have multiple accounts on other sites just to feel like we can keep up.

Are there any plans on making this site (the official LE Forum) a something that we can expect to see first-hand news on in a timely fashion?

The forums have always been our first drop point for any major news or information regarding Last Epoch. Even when information is posted directly to other places such as Steam, it is also posted here first.
With that said, please know the concern has not gone unnoticed. I simply do not have anything more to add at this time.

Can you post a patch notes preview with the first 20 pages? Thanks :stuck_out_tongue:

For the very major news that might be true, but for a lot of things surrounding the hype of the game this is not true.

Things like when the patch notes are released or major clarifications are very often answered by devs individually on platforms like Reddit or Discord without ever being mentioned here on the forums.

I reckon that some of this stuff might not be a candidate for a dedicated News/Announcement Post, but it is incredibly frustrating if things are scattered all over the place or are revealed in places that you simply don’t want to follow or hang out in/constantly want to check.

I think what you could do following bigger announcements like the April 17th Release shift post is a Q&A Post that gets regularly updated with the mos burning questions.

EDIT

I just happen to saw that you now “officially” announced the patch notes date on X. (for anybody who missed it, it will be the 11th of April)
This directly contradicts what you said. I just double checked and it was nowhere announced as well, neitehr forum nor discord or anywhere else.

This is exactly the type of scatting different informations across several platforms. And this isn’t the first time something like this happening.

I really think this needs to improve.

I think the best option would be to keep a single post for the latest season teasers in the forums and keep updating it with any teasers or info that have been shared on discord/ streams/ twitter/ reddit.

Especially for teasers it’s important to have them available when other people get them as well, rather then the need to search them together.

A dedicated ‘teaser’ thread for each cycle where every new reveal will be posted inside as it gets closer and closer to the actual release would be very good for that.

As for bigger events like those hour+ long interviews it’s a bit different, they definitely can be provided at the main information page. That one’s a bit sub-optimally placed on the website though. Currently the cycle information is on the core page rather then it being a overview. Albeit as a still ‘rather newly released’ game that’s still decent. As it progresses it becomes better to copy similar layouts like Path of Exile has it, just more modern optimally. News for a established game are more important then pulling in initial players. Word-of-mouth is supposed to take over that job after all, otherwise the initial positioning went bad anyway and it’s a struggle.
LE definitely didn’t struggle with the initial outcome though, quite the contrary

The second big picture in the top post here shows the patch notes date. It doesn’t say it in text form so it wouldn’t show up in a search for April 11 if you checked that way. I also did confirm it from the stream in discord yesterday but there I just said “…on the 11th” so a similar search also wouldn’t pick it up.

Wow I didn’t even stumbled upon that, mainly because for me Eterra Monthly always was a recap of things we already know, but since the Patch Note date has not “officially” been reveal yet I just didn’t noticed. I blitzed over the Image thinking it was the release date.

That was a bad on my end, but I think it is not ideal to put new, very important information in Eterra Monthly. Historically they always were a recap and never contained major announcements (I would consider Patch Notes to be a major announcement)

I wonder how many of the playerbase read patch notes but don’t read Eterra Monthly.
And I wonder how many of those players also missed the patch date

If I could suggest something, “patch week” might be more fun. Each day release a new section of patch notes in digestible morsels. Plus it gives something fun to do for people who don’t want to play the other game. Maybe one day release sentinel changes, the next crafting, stuff like that. All it takes is a little html editing.

Not a fan at all.

Changes should never be looked at in a vaccum and should be consdiered as part of a whole.

I think the patch hype week, which they usually do, where we get a couple of dev blogs in the week leading up to the patch touching on specific new things or changes serve the same purpose, but just better.

Yes, but this came after it was already revealed by others here on the forum b/c many of us didn’t know it from the other sites (Discord in this case I believe).

yeah because people like waiting much more :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s more about providing such integral information which is setting expectations in a cohesive manner.

People working on third party programs or sites for the game need time to update their information, hence too early before a start isn’t good… and excitement vanishes when it’s too far away.

Also imagine if you’re absolutely hyped for a release and every day makes it better… until suddenly… BAM… something utterly destroying your mood for it comes along one day. That’s the counter-side.
Not to speak of being able to give unwanted changes like overall nerfs in-between many good improvements when the patch notes are larger, making the impact of the negatives a lot lot lower when you read interesting changes mostly otherwise. If it’s more contained in a single day the fallout of such things is a lot higher.
