Empowered monolith's are bad design

Do you know what modifiers the monolith had? if you gave them like deadly if not damage then that is also a problem

Pretty sure the math experts can use this info to give you a real answer but honestly you could get one shot if you had the wrong Mof affixes active.

Your CSA is great so at least that should stop crits.
Your endurance may help a little bit but not much to really be useful tho as the threshold is low so it doesnt kick in.
The res cap obviously means you dont take any additional damage, at higher levels but doesnt do anything else to help prevent big hits.
You have 59% armour which is now (latest patch) halved for non-physical so effectively you only have about 30% damage reduction for all types of other damage.

If you are standing still, you would have only 30% damage reduction against non-physical damage and it probably is too low - especially with only 1600 health… Cant tell how much health regen/leech/healing etc you have so it could be that you are not able to heal up fast enough to survive bigger hits.

The MoF negatives could easily boost normal mobs to do enough damage to nail you in a hit or two. Stand still for a split second, add some DoT/ailments and you could be one-shot.

Personally, I would aim for at least 2k health and/or at least have a pretty high leech/health regen setup to make this build better.

Im no expert on paladin, but a few things ill add :

  • I dont think Warpath spinning counts a moving, so the 40% damage reduction from your armor wont kick in when spinning (im not 100% sure on this but ive read several posts saying other “moving procs” wont work with warpath) (EDIT: was wrong about this one, several other moving skills wont work with warpath atm, but the armor does)
  • As @vapourfire mentioned armor is now only half effective vs non-phys, and your dual wielding which is 12% extra damage taken, so that means your down to approximately only 16-17% damage reduction.
  • Your endurance is kinda low for a build like that, and with 1600 health you are not very tanky vs hard hitting attacks, and therefore you need to rely on manually avoiding those telegraphed attacks.

Several recent builds rely on this, so I guess yes, it counts as moving.

Yip… missed that one… Really does mean that the build has very little effective damage reduction… Even easier to be one-shot in an empowered Mof.

It should do, but since Warpath doesn’t proc the shock from Stormtide, I’m not sure it actually does… And it wouldn’t be the first time people have assumed that things work when they don’t (I’m thinking of the Sentinel idols that give damage on echo).

@Shtrak Ok, I could be wrong about that one then, but :

Yeah, neither Stormtide nor Eterras boots procs from Warpath so i assumed it didnt worked with the armour either.

I’ve asked the devs if they had fixed it or not got round to it yet.

Dont think they did, tested it just now  (not the armor tho)

Apparently they have but missed the interaction with the boots.

Ah ok, good to know :+1:

We should ask @boardman21 and @ApprenticeCorner, they made builds about this.
The question: does Warpathing count as moving?

Well I’m still unsure what it really means and I was thinking about a specific chest, not boots. But if it clarifies, thanks!
(sorry, don’t want to sound rude, sometimes being sick seems to shutdown part of my brain)

 NP. Yes they fixed it, but apparently missed the interaction with the boots. Though testing whether the DR from the armour works is going to be a lot harder than testing if the boots work.

Understood. And agreed. ^^
(for me, DR stands for “Disaster Recovery”, I always must think a second when I read it here  )
