Deadlock when entering The End of Ruin

I am doing campaign for first time. Upon entering the End of Ruin rift, the game locked up on the loading screen. The loading screen did not clear despite waiting a few minutes, and my mouse could not move. alt+tab and ctrl+alt+del did not work. I had to hard reboot my computer.

I did hear the voice line from the mysterious ethereal voice a few moments after the loading screen appeared.

Hi, Welcome to the forums…

Please can you post your player.log, le_graphicsmanager.ini as well as the output from a dxdiag report. These files may provide more detail as to what could be happening on your system and with the game.

(see Useful files - Last Epoch Support Hub for more info)

Things to try in the meanwhile:

  1. Make sure your OS is up to date and patched and that there are no failed updates.
  2. Make sure your GPU drivers are recent - 2 to 3 months old.
  3. Verify the game files if you are using Steam
  4. Temporarily do not run any other applications while testing LE. Doesnt matter how irrelevant you might think they are, just dont run them while testing.

Just before entering the zone, change your default audio device in windows. This can be as easy as unplugging your headphones if you’re using them. Once you are through the zone transition, you can change the device back and it should be smooth sailing.

Ok, thanks. Actually, I maybe should have mentioned before that I attempted the same zone transition a 2nd time and it worked (without needing to change my audio device). I only saw this happen once.
