Controversial Opinion- Story Mode is TOO LONG

I feel like I must vocalize my opinion because with 9 acts- and 3 more acts unreleased- is already making me feel like i am choking inside, thinking about re-doing it EVERY 3-4 months. It is way to long for a game with Cycles. If cycle was 8-9 months 9 acts would be ok.

I am aware I can somewhat skip the campaign with dungeons, but if You went CoF like me on your first character with a strict loot filter, your not going to have a lot of gear for the other specs, more less for alts when you target farm with prophecies. In practice it means i MUST run the entire CAMPAIGN everytime I want to make an alt which is abnoxious.

What I would promote is an alternative similar to what Grimdawn / TQ did or the New Pathfinder game did with its DLC, as a seperate arena that scales on your level. You push into it and kill thousands of mobs as a way to farm xp on mass, and the gear drops based on your level bracket.

An alternative would be to shorten the campaign by removing 90% of the maps - since we are redoing them anyway for Monoliths, may as well toss most of the world ones out. And increasing the mob density and XP multiplicatively.

The campaign would bring you straight to level 100, toss away all monoliths up to 100, and start players directly in empowered 100. Add leveling npcs like in WoW did with special gear you could craft and unlock [speed leveling gear].

  • 0.5% of damage is leached as health [none channeled]

  • 15 ward generated per dot on enemy per second, max ward 4K

  • +4 for [Dots]
    *+2 for traversal skills

    • X-400 health

Summoner Builds

*+ x-1000% health for minions based on your max intellect

    • x-450% minion stun avoidance per max intellect
  • 100% for minions critical avoidance + 1% critical avoidance per 4 points in Dex
  • +x-45% for minions to shred global resistances per 100 mana, max stacks 5
  • +4% health leach to minions and self from damage done
    • 8 to minion skills or totems
    • 4 to max minions per 100 mana max cap of 4
  • 100 mana for every 10 points in Dex

Anyone have any opinions?

I think this would be a great way to finance the future expansion of the game. They should be able to charge at least USD 30 or even 40 for this kind of boost, and there would be people who’d pay that.
