As I’ve been playing over the last couple of days, my controller has been working sometimes, and other times not working at all. There seems to be no consistency with it regardless of what controller I use, whether I’m streaming it through Moonlight to my Steam deck, or just laying it on my desktop. However, when the controller doesn’t work the behavior is consistent. Some of the buttons are working. I can hit the start button on the controller and get to the game menu. I can even do dodge rolls, even some abilities, But my left analog stick does not work at all for moving, however the right analog stick as you can see from the attached video does work.
As an additional layer of confusion, When the controller is connected and it’s not working correctly there will be two mouse cursors visible on the screen, 1 for the actual computer mouse and the 2nd for the controllers cursor that’s controlled with that right analog stick. However the D pad doesn’t work at all, the A button doesn’t work to select things, and for whatever reason overall this controller is just not working.
This happened during the last season as well, and I had to do some black magic foolery to try to get the controller to work consistently and I honestly don’t remember what it was anymore. The game lays erfectly when the controller does work, but these inconsistencies make it extremely undesirable to even try to play right now with my preferred method.
Quite literally as I type this I tapped it back into the game screen after taking the recording that I’m attaching here and the controller is working again. I didn’t do anything other than start and stop the recording tab out tab back in.
Happy to help with any further investigation, I love this game I want to see it succeed and I’m really determined to ensure that controller or GamePad support and/or functionality works correctly and as intended.
