The whole void pool mechanic is one of the coolest boss mechanics currently present, completely skipping that intended or not is something I absolutely dislike.
This should be forced upon players, because its unique and rewarding.
It one of these mechanics that have a great learning curve.
@perrythepig was likely the source you’re referencing. He brought that up in one of the Last Week of Epoch videos and I assume it was from an EHG developer during one his daily streams.
Having it still place a pool wouldn’t negate the learning curve. It would actually allow builds with lower dps to be able to clear the fight through better play. You would still have to place them correctly, and you still run the risk of running out of good space if the fight drags on too long.
You are absolutely wonderful!
Usually I don’t like the “I know a guy who heard a guy”, but this one sounded reliable. It was not in one of these videos (I have never watched it), but Perry may have told it once more in one of his other videos.
Thanks again for all you knowledge and for sharing it!
It’s really true, I’ve learned to switch twice.
Because otherwise, the boss fight turns into boring standing still and spam one skill instead of an already small pool of 5.
I absolutely adore mechanics that have more than just “played correctly, 100% avoided” or “played incorrectly, you took damage”.
Mechanics that have to be dealt with while differentiating good, from bad, from really well and really bad played. And also have lingering consequences.
Maybe because Gaspar is not nearly as punishing, Thus, his beams are just something to be respected while still having plenty of wiggle room during the fight.
